I just wish the vocal tracks had been separated. Now I have to separate them myself, which wouldn't be a problem except for that one overlap with Chester and Mike's vocals. Won't be a perfect separation though. Though the lyrics are the same, the vocals are sung a little more aggressively by Mike the second time around, I think.

 

I have just been listening and listening to it and i can't stand it, not the song the wait i am so loking forward to it i just want to order the single now or something. It is gonna be one hell of a long 23 days for me. Yh I have started counting down and i bet im not the only one. LOVE IT

Maybe this has been mentioned but those lyrics from the second puzzle WERE from the Catalyst! People got to remember that we may be looking at "proggy" music. To my understanding, that means the other parts of the song can sound very different. I don't think this sample is terrible, but it's WAAYYY different than anything they've ever done before. I am so excited for a thousand suns!

I was now thinking how many "fans" would be pissed off by the new sound. I kinda like it.

 

Bitching already I see.....I personally LOVE these little snippets, Mike and Chester sound top notch. What are people getting so upset about over Mike's part? First off, I wouldn't call that singing, more like chanting. Second, what is so wrong with the voice altercation thing? Barely changes anything. And this is like the Blackbirds snippet all over again...you can't make such bold conclusions based on damn stems. It will sound MUCH different in the finalized version, I guarantee you. Quote me. Be satisfied with what the band is doing for the fans for once. /rant

 

when i think back to the first snippet i heard of What Ive Done. i think that this first listen of The Catalyst has excited me more

 

Yaknow, Mike's part is almost dead on to what the XFM guy said. He said it was rapping, but not like anything Mike has done before, and that's exactly what it is. I like the way he sings/raps, it's just the effect on Mike's vocals will take a little getting used to.

 

man stop. you have a problem, you're telling me you don't like in between? Man you have no taste, you can't see the feeling in that amazing song because you are jammed with hybrid theory, stop dude seriously. EVOLVE like everyone else of us and of course like the band, this snipet is amazing.

 

Early in the morning I couldn't access those stems and just heard people bitching about Mikes vocals. I was let down, thought that all the wait was for nothing... I was meeting a friend so I had a couple of hours to get over it.

Now I'm back and I've listened to the stems...

You people complaining are crazy. C-R-A-Z-Y. All this dance rock, pop bullshit... You're all nuts. Stems sound awesome, instrumental parts are great. Can't wait till August 2nd.

 

So when the single comes out on the 2nd Aug, when will the music video be released?
