Haha i've been lurking this site since 2005, I think when the site had the meteora look. But yeah I agree completely. People thought that the 35sec preview was all techno and nothing really good came out of it, but now they enjoy it. It's a diverse song.

 

Yeah I know the rules, I don't want to make this thread about me, but i'm glad I did join. Best choice of my day. Okay, back to The Catalyst. I think that from all of the previews and snippets we have, this song is going to be pure genius. We only have around 2 minutes or so of previews, so i'm feeling guitar solos and stuff in this one. The french article didn't really give us alot of detail for this track.

im really liking the use of dynamics here. I was iffy on the song when the first clip went up on Lp.com, but that grew on me...and listening to the clips today, it just confirms the fact that September 14th couldnt get here sooner.

i have to say that im really digging the new direction the LP songs are going. they seem to try really hard to give us something NEW instead of repeating themselves over and over again

Haha same here. Ive been following this site since not long after meteora came out back in "03, and didnt join until around when everyone was going nuts over M2M. This song is really diverse. Am i the only one thinking..."Are all these clips even from the same song??" lol

I'm quite sure this will be the best Linkin Park single to date, musically.

 

Remember the french news article said that this is probably the most radio friendly song on the album. By that I mean it follows the traditional LP formula. So I can't wait to hear the other stuff and the weirdness they've created for us.

 

They actually said it didn't follow the LP formula. They said they were expecting it to but that it didn't.
