An Open Letter From Linkin Park About ATS

Jeez, this is so full of WIN

 

I get the feeling that the album itself may get fantastic reviews from professional/well acclaimed reviewers (i.e. Rolling Stone). Of course this is a bit absurd to assume because I haven't heard it yet. But yes, get ready for the troll population to DOUBLE in all Linkin Park related forums. I won't be one of them!

 

Keeping in with everyones "reviews mean little" feeling, I just wanna throw out RS gave Minutes To Midnight four stars. Out of 5. And while I personally agree, I know 90% of the people who listened to it will call immediate bullshit.

I agree. Haha RS is a bad example I generally don't like their reviews. 4/5 is definitely a little high for M2M. On a personal level I give it 5 out of 5 but in reality the songs don't flow that well together. They must have been excited that LP was changing. Haha well than damn they're gonna love ATS!

Best Read Ever! This is why I love them. Good job LP. I'm with you to the end.

 

Ratings out of five are relatively broad though, or at least you'd think they would be, as the numbers are smaller. A 4/5 is the equivalent of somewhere between 60 and 80 out of 100 and the lower part of that range isn't that close to perfect.

Anyway, it was a nice read and it's good to see that coming from them.

 

This letter makes me incredibly proud to be a Linkin Park fan, especially one who has been standing up for The Catalyst over the past few days since it has been released. I just forwarded a copy over to my local station who has been refuses to play The Catalyst and talking crap about how they have to wait to hear the new album and how it's going to be a big disappointment to the fans. This letter renews my faith that they put a true sense of artistic growth and evolution into the music rather than a same-ol-same-ol venture that Warner would have forced on them. I can't wait to take this journey and hear A Thousand Suns. Bring it on!

 

I hope the album is half as good as the hype. With decoding messages, to LP wants to put you on their album, to all the hype leading up to The Catalyst, and finally the release of the song itself, the promotion of the album has been nothing short of brilliant. Now, with this letter to the fans it takes it up a few notches once again. For me personally, I've thrown out all my preconceptions about this album. The album is what it is. Whether I like it or not, it doesn't matter. I'm glad LP are making songs that are coming purely from them and not from outside influences. As a fan you have to respect that, whether or not you like the end result is up to you. LP has my respect and I will admire them for taking such a huge risk. Bravo!
