I agreed to what you said. "I do agree that The Catalyst sounds like the end of some kind of journey." All I was saying was that personally, I still like it. Did I ever say you were stupid for not liking it? No. I don't think there's one member on here that bashes people for not liking something by LP. That's why LPA is so great. People here all have their own opinions and everybody respects them.

It's like you think I'm an idiot and need these simple things explained to me. All good though, it's the internet ... very hard to get a bearing on what people are thinking, so no big deal.

He/She didn't disagree and didn't correct me, just misunderstood me, and the issue I raised wasn't about the disagreement but the way in which it was worded.

I'm not sure, but I have a feeling this is a tie in with Mike's passion about his grandfather (Kenji, FM) from WWII. It could be an interpretation or extrapolation on that point. If so, it will be truly epic as that songs and the interview FM Militia version gave me gnarly goosebumps.

The thing is, the one with the soldiers is probably cooler looking but maybe the band deliberatey chose a cover that was more vague and evocative.
The soldier one would give people a preconcieved notion that the album is supposed to be about war and stuff like that, while the one they did choose leaves a lot more to the imagination and most of the time they seem to prefer it that way.

 

LP has had plenty of soldier themes stuff. The art for HT had the Dragonfly Soldier, Reanimation had them too. I have an official LP t-shirt that has a skull wearing a army helmet with two m16s behind it. LP just likes the visual effects of conflict.

Or something like that. Did anyone ever actually stop to think that maybe they just do some things because they think it's cool?
