A Thousand Suns has been the album of the week on Zane Lowe's Radio 1 show all week. As well as playing tracks from the new album daily, he has also been interviewing Mike & Phoenix. Check out the 7:30 long interview below, courtesy of LPAssociation. This is the situation before they go in: "Yo, dave, yea, about this interview we got comin' up...justletmedoallthetalking" uttered Shinyoda. "Whatever you say, dear" retorted Pheonix.
I'm burnt out on interviews. They just say the same shit over and over again. Probably won't listen unless if I'm really bored.
Agreed it's usally the same stuff. I'm not saying I don't care for what they are saying, it's just they keep recycling the same stuff. It's like the wrote this down on paper and have been saying stuff like this since August.
Yeah...but i think it´s because they were recorded some weeks ago...and the band didn´t want to create any predictions of how the album would sound and everything!!! Interviews after the album release might be a little better
That's what album promo is all about; reiterating the same points, those certain facts about the album and whatever, over and over again. For everyone who will listen.
Yup, most people will only see one or two interviews so the band have to say the same things over and over again. Though it's as much to do with the interviewer as the person being interviewed so unless you get a good interviewer who asks different/interesting questions you'll just get the same answers. (If you give me interesting questions I'll give you interesting answers). I'm sure it's as tedious for the band as it is for people following them closely. Just 12 hours or so and I'll have the album.
