As everyone knows, ATS leaked tuesday. Whenever I found out, i downloaded it as fast as I could. The album is fantastic but I personally think that Linkin Park should perform this from beginning to end on thier new tour. I haven't listen to "Hybrid Theory", "Meteroa", and "Minutes to Midnight" for a week because I wanted to wait for "A Thousand Suns". Now, since the album leaked and I have it. I think that this album is just to awesome to be played like only by certains tracks. I don't really want them to play old stuff on this tour (my opinion) but it's their tour. I'm looking forward to see how they play some old songs with the new sound.
They are going to play old songs. That's a fact. But playing ATS in its entirety is very possible; Chester mentioned the idea. I would love them to do that, be it for one show or an entire tour (ex: My Chemical Romance's Black Parade tour).
For touring, it'd be awesome if they changed up their old songs to somehow fit with what they are doing now musically. Unless they still enjoy playing that type of music. Playing A Thousand Suns straight through would be amazing.
I think it would be a pretty good idea. Maybe start the concert with a few old school songs and play this album in the middle of the set and finish with songs from MTM or HT
Maybe they could do another WHOLE tour and just play ATS so we get the best of both worlds and see them AGAIN! would be amazing!
It definitely should be played in it's entirety. Maybe one or two songs from HT and M2M before and after it but that's it.
They can easily do a two-part setlist, kind of like Dream Theater used to do. The first half, they can do songs from the first three albums, maybe 45-50 minutes. Then make an intermission, go back and play ATS entirely. Total lenght of the show: 1 hour 40 minutes. Everybody happy. PS: It would be awesome if after playing The Catalyst they left and only Chester came back with an acoustic guitar to play The Messenger alone.
I was thinking that they should do a set where ATS was the majority of it with the Reanimation version of songs mixed in and ATS-style remixes of MTM. Drop Meteora all together. But your idea is even better because that's a longer show.
Nah. The Messenger needs the piano and Mike Shinoda singing the ooohh ohhhhhhh ohhhhhhh ohhhhh with Chester Bennington.
Hmmm. No I don't think it should be played in it's entirety. I mean they can play 6 songs off the new album and I'll be happy because I still want to hear the old shit as well. So if I COULD pick the songs the were to play it would be Iridescent, Burning In The Skies, Waiting For The End, Wretches and Kings and The Catalyst.
I so want an ATS : LIVE With the entire album, and ats-style-remixed old songs. They could make another remix album
....no I'm all for playing some songs from ATS but I want to hear more than that. We need songs in the concert to get people's hearts jumping. I can't get pumped up listening to a Yoga album with some hard parts in it. Would be interesting to see them open with The Requiem though.
Not at all. Let's say this is someone first Linkin Park concert. They will be upset if they don't hear the hits like In The End,Faint,One Step Closer, even What I've done
They always mastered creating new bridges between songs during live shows, while using reanimation samples by example, so I'm not worried about the old songs fitting with the new ones
