Mike stated that The Requiem has tiny little elements of each song in it. I have some listed here. Any helpers? 02. The Radiance - full continuation 03. Burning In The Skies - heartbeat 05. When They Come For Me - the oriental "ahhhh" 06. Robot Boy - submarine sonar 07. Jornada Del Muerto - submarine sonar, flanger 08. Waiting For The End - piano notes in the intro. 09. Blackout - opening scream before the first verse 10. Wretches and Kings - drum beat with heavy effects 14. The Catalyst - "God Save Us" line
1. The piano notes in the beginning of 'The Requiem' can be found in 'Waiting For The End' 2. Not entirely sure, but the faint drum beat towards the end sounds similar to the one in 'When They Come For Me.' That's all I can find for now. Interesting topic!
There's that opening scream in Requiem which you also hear in the opening of Blackout. Also, if you listen really closely to the end of The Requiem as it transitions into The Radiance, you will hear in the background a robotic voice that counts down "4, 3, 2, 1." You could say it's the same robotic voice used in "Wisdom, Justice, and Love."
Maybe that was the countdown to the atomic bomb? The video is on youtube somewhere, relating to Oppenheimer.
Wow, I didn't really notice that those songs were in "The Requiem" I just thought that the only songs connected to it where "The Catalyst" and "Burning in the Skies", also I did here something like a countdown towards the very end of "The Requiem" and saw that youtube clip, that was something that made my eyes open.
The electronic beats used in W&K? 0:41-1:16 of The Requiem The FX used in the guitar intro of Waiting for the End. 0:36-0:41 in The Requiem And who's the one singing starting 0:53? Is it the band?
Lead vox in "The Requiem" is done by Shinoda. On helium. Or, pitch-shift + auto-tune. ;P Backing vox is ... probably the band, yeah. :"
