Linkin Park's new album A Thousand Suns has entered the official UK album chart at number 2. This isn't surprising as they were only surpassed by Irish band, The Script who released their sophomore album Science & Faith last week.

However in Germany, A Thousand Suns shot straight to number 1! A Thousand Suns also reached number 1, in the Australian album chat! Just beating out The Script, so congratulations on all chart placements!

That must be one popular band. You would know better Joe since...you know...you sort of live there .

    Congrats Linkin Park!

    It's Grudged* ;)

I'm really happy about this! I wish it had been #1 but as said, The Script is a UK based band.

You have to remember that this is the UK. I'm actually amazed it placed this high with the amount of bockers in this country. The Script are a very popular, easily accessible, commercial pop rock band and it's no surprise they sold more in the UK simply because they have more appeal. To place second is still a great thing.

I thought LP would be #1 to be honest, #2 is great though but I didn't think The Script would beat ATS.

I use the London underground tube station everyday and I have seen big ATS posters in over 10 MAIN train stations so far! That is excellent promo for LP.

The Script isn't a bad band. At least LP didn't get beat out by a boy band or something of that sort. Sure, The Script is more "popular" if you wise to hit them with that label, but hey, #2 aint a bad spot to be at.

    Congrats LP!

MTM debuted at number 1 from what I remember...could be wrong though. Still this is a pretty good achievement. The Catalyst debuted at 40 in the top 40 last week aswell.

Yeah, The Script are a good band. Nothing wrong with coming second to them.

I hope ATS stays in the Top 10 albums chart for a while lol.

I guess the US billboards chart is the big one? Let's hope they are #1 there! I read somewhere that Trey Songz is a close #2 with his new album.

    Congrats LP!

FYI - The Script are an Irish band. Please don't call them a UK based band. It's like saying U2 are a UK based band!

Ha, I'm well aware The Script are an Irish band. However with Northern Ireland being part of the UK, I thought I'd specify the UK in relation to the UK chart. I'll change it to "Irish" band to please you, haha.

That's impressive given the rather radical departure that LP has made with this album. They're not gonna be hurting from making this for sure.

Congrats LP! Can't wait to see the charts here in the US and around the world. Also how many copies that went out worldwide as well.

I haven't heard of The Script or U2. Or Ireland for that matter. But go LP!
