UK, Sunderland based band The Futureheads have been announced to be the special guests on the upcoming tour of Germany that Linkin Park kick off October 20th. No word on support for the rest of the European tour as of yet, but it's interesting to note that The Futureheads have a free touring schedule when Linkin Park hit the UK, Austria & France too. We'll keep you updated on any updates.

UPDATE// According to Musique Mag, The Futureheads will also be supporting Linkin Park in Paris, France when they play October 25th.

That's a really fucking weird selection. The two bands are completely different in style...

Yeah, definitely. I'll be surprised if these guys don't hit the UK with LP, being as they are from the UK, haha. I wouldn't expect much in terms of support after this, probably just local bands like for the Argentina shows.

That's kinda cool, having a really different supporting act. Makes for an interesting concert.

Yeah, it's interesting to think how these things come about. LP's management must see something in them that someone in the band has passed on and contacted them to support. Not really the kind of music I'm into, but fair enough if they want them to support.

I actually hope they aren't the support for the UK shows. I don't mind their music but an Indie-Rock band is never a good choice to warm up a crowd that expects a certain degree of heavy music. Having different types of bands works for a festival style show like PR but even then, at the PR I went to in Milton Keynes, The Bravery didn't get much of a reaction at all...Hell, Innerpartysystem (who were virtually unknown in the UK and wern't even listed on the main bill until a few weeks before the show) got a better reaction and I'd say about 80% of that crowd had no idea they were even going to be there.

I heard rumours that Julien-K might be supporting, which I'd much prefer.

Yeah, I hope so too, but it would make sense, haha. To be fair, I've not been a fan of any support from the band's recent tours over here.

The Projekt Rev show had an amazing lineup apart from The Bravery. But yes, Biffy Clyro wern't good support the last time around at all imo. They should have got a band like Funeral For A Friend.

One of the worst bands ever. Do not want.

I'm still putting my money on Young Guns and The Blackout. I'd have said Enter Shikari if they wern't supporting 30STM at the same time.

The Futureheads are pretty big-ish in the UK so not sure they need the extra promotion of supporting LP...

Biffy are so much better on a smaller stage, arenas arent right for them.

People are saying Julien K because the couldnt make it in 08, I really dont want to see them, just no.

Oooh The Blackout sound likely, really dont want to see Enter Shikari again either, wasnt impressed at all at PRUK

Fuck, now that's a bad choice. Another fact that the concert may be dissapointing :(

Weren't there some rumors about Julien-K on Germany Tour?

There has to be at least one good support-band :/

I hoped that there will be a metalband like Coheed & Cambria, but not this shit ;)
