I don't know if there is another Underoath thread out there, so I figured I would just post a new one.

Anyone else fans of these guys. They are the ones that really got me into metalcore music back in the day with They Are Only Chasing Safety and Define The Great Line.

They currently have a new song up on their website called Illuminator which sounds awesome, even though it lacks Aaron :(.
    Check it out. :)

For me, Underoath were - and presumably still are - one of the very, very few good bands writing music with Christian themes.

I got over my general interest in metalcore (and Christian lyrics) after I finished high school. :) But "Define" is an amazing album, yeah.

I liked "Chasing Safety", but, when I first heard "Define", I was, like, "My God, they have gotten so much better!" :D

I never got around to checking out "Separation".

Lost In The Sound Of Separation is really good, but it won't top Define The Great Line for me.

Not bad. I'm not as into them as I was at one point, but for what it's worth I think LITSOS is probably their best album.

For right now it's Define The Great Line > Lost In The Sound Of Separation > They Are Only Chasing Safety > The Changing of Times

    IMO.

I love their "They're Only Chasing Safety" album and I checked out the song once it came out and it was amazing.

I think I'd pretty much put them in the opposite order that they were released in.To be honest I've never really listened to their first couple of albums much anyway.

Their early stuff was like really shitty black metal with deathcore parts.

Underoath are okay for what they are, but I will never forgive them for inspiring a generation of HORRIBLE bands.

Yeah, I think the reason that I haven't listened to it much is that I heard enough to come to the conclusion that it probably wasn't that good haha.

The Changing of Times was pretty bad IMO, and only had one good song, but once they got a new lineup, they sounded a thousand times better with They Are Only Chasing Safety

I mean their albums before The Changing of Times :p But yeah, I think they have gotten a good deal better since Tim and Spencer joined.

Nice. Yeah they got considerably heavier since then, and more leaning towards metalcore than screamo, which is great. They are actually great friends with Adam Dutkiewicz (wow I spelled that right on the first try ) from Killswitch Engage if you are familiar with them. I stopped listening to them after awhile since I started being rather addicted to Linkin Park  So now that they have a new album coming out in November, I'm gonna listen to them more and more so I can get myself pumped.

Me neither. It should be interesting to see how it is without Aaron in the band.
