Yes! LITE finally opens a show! And COG is in the setlist! And no Somewhere I Belong and One Step Closer!!! Although no LOATR/SOTD/Iridescent, Victimized nor In My Remains.
I was there tonight, and yes I was disappointed by the lack of songs. How the hell did they not perform One Step Closer. Also in the beginning, there were technical difficulties, specially in LOST IN THE ECHO, there was no background sound that carries throughout the whole song from beginning to end. Anyways, it wasn't loud in the beginning idk why, but they they got somewhat louder after numb. Brad was really pissed with the sound throughout the show, he didn't show it while he was playing guitar, but all the times I saw him go in the back, I saw him yelling at Sean, his guitar tech. Maybe that's why Sean posted on his Instagram saying that this job is stressful sometimes. At the end of the show, I also so Brad throw his expensive Fender guitar (which he uses on What I've Done, New Divide, The Catalyst) to the ground as he was mad at the sound. But he didn't show it, that was very professional. CASTLE OF GLASS live was great, I loved it. In the end, Mike went into the crowd during Bleed it Out and was crowd surfing until he said "Put me down" then ran through the pit up the stands and ran around covered with loads of people. As I ran towards him I touched his arm but right then the security grabbed me and threw me away lol. Overall, it was an amazing show, the sound got better after a few songs, the only thing that made me mad was that there was no OSC, but Mike going into the crowd made up for the whole show. And the crowd wasn't that great, they were only enjoying the old LP songs like In the end, What I've Done etc. I felt like I was the only one singing CASTLE OF GLASS. EDIT: Overall, it was a great show, love Linkin Park, they put on one hell of a show even with all the technical difficulties. I actually haven't seen Brad jump this much on stage since the Meteora days, he was probably trying to pump the crowd up. The stage was very small too, not a lot of room for Chester to jump around lol.
Too bad to learn about the technical difficulties. I can't picture Brad being so upset, but what I like is that they want to perform their best every show so when things don't go as planned it must grind their gears.. Wouldn't complain about the setlist, it's hard to fit some songs in such short show time, they have so many sometimes they gotta cut some from the list. Also it's easier to cut OSC than ITE for example because the former is more vocally demanding (screams), so who knows, there must've been different factors
It was a shortened setlist guys, it's "normal" they dropped songs for the occasions. Altough OSC would have been better than the regular BIO (without any special bridge)as a closer to me.
That is a great setlist. I always knew LOST IN THE ECHO would be the perfect show opener. It's understandable that they had to remove a few songs. I don't mind songs like OSC being gone. Even the bands finally realizing how some songs have been overplayed.
It says here http://kroq.cbslocal.com/2012/12/08/live-blog-23rd-annual-kroq-almost-acoustic-christmas-night-1/ that they´ve made a version of “God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman” before going into “What I’ve Done.”
