hear a 30 second clip of the first single from 30 Seconds To Mars's new CD "This Is War" at:

Only a 30 second clip so far and not much to go on by any means, but from what little I hear, I like. The song goes to radio October 6th and the album is due out November 24th.

Tracklist for the new album is as follows:

1. "Escape"
2. "Night of the Hunter"
3. "Kings and Queens"
4. "This Is War"
5. "100 Suns"
6. "Hurricane" (featuring Kanye West)
7. "Closer to the Edge"
8. "Vox Populi"
9. "Search & Destroy"
10. "Alibi"
11. "Stranger in a Strange Land"
12. "Equinox"

On a side note.... Yo Jared Leto! I'm real happy for you and Ima let you finish, but Billy Bob Thornton had the best celebrity lead band of all time... of all... TIME. (not really btw )

I'm actually VERY stoked for this. I love 30STM brings back memories. When A Beautiful Life came out I was in like 7th grade, 7th or 8th. Gooooood times, Holy crap man.

I remember getting their self-titled through a street team website called Streetwise and I was the first in the area to hear about them, so i felt badass, lol. I loved the self-titled and then I was so stoked when A Beautiful Lie leaked like 4 months before it was supposed to come out, lol. Another great album. I'm hoping this next album can fuse both together and create the best album they have made.

Excited for this. I'm sure this will move in a more mainstream direction, but I hope they at least do it right.

Sweet story.

(LOL, just kidding with you. Your comment just seemed kinda random to me, even if it does relate to 30STM, lol)

Yeah I know it's random, but I used to hate him and I don't know why. I also don't know what changed. Maybe I got older and stopped caring.

Oh well, the new album can't come soon enough.

Clip has disappeared :( I love Jared Leto though...one of the artists I respect for telling his record label to go fuck themselves. I like it when artists stand up and take bullshit from their record companies.

I found another copy of that snippet online. You're right -- it's not much to go by at all but I wasn't disappointed. ;)

might be taken down by the time you guys get to it, but here is the full song of "Kings And Queens".... I like it, it's not exactly what I am looking for in the next record, but I still think it's a pretty good song:

This album has the potential to be brilliant. Right now this single is sounding a little bit too much modern worship music but I'm thinking they won't do the same thing with every song on the album so I'm hoping there's more variety, because the atmosphere and production of this song is great.

I like it. It sounds kind of like a mixture of their first two albums, but poppier.

I like it. It does sound like more of a mix of their first two albums, as well as AvA and U2 kinda.

I definitely got the U2 vibe. Anyone else feeling the modern day worship music feel as well?

How many modern day evangelical worship services have you been through though? Because I've been through hundreds and this sounds way too predictably similar. Not saying you need to hear the same thing I do, we all interpret music in vastly different ways, but in my opinion it seems rather obvious this sound is influenced by that. Not that it's a bad thing, though, it's a powerful sound(heavenly, dramatic, the lyrics in this song are also very worship-like in several parts). Good stuff, I anticipate the album. :)
