Album By This Summer? Joe Thinks So

Joe's newsletter update has been posted on Linkin Park's website. He explains that the band is looking to change their sound up a bit, and therefore chose Rick Rubin as producer. Further, Joe expects the band to start touring this summer, meaning a May release date could still be possible.

Joe says:

"Right now we're in the experimental phase of the writing process for our new record. There is no solid direction yet, we're trying to be as eclectic as we can for the moment and then we'll see what stands out the most out of all the music we write, which will give us more of an identity to strive for.... We look forward to touring and sharing our new music with all of our fans, hopefully by this summer after our album is complete."

i actually don't want it to come out before summer. I wan't linkin park to take their time on this album and make it the best it can be

I just want to know for sure that it's coming out before summer. I hate thinking it is but not being completely sure. I'm being as patient as possible for me, though.

 

Ya never know. Sometimes when a band works on an album for 6 months, it turns out really awsome. They worked on Meteora for 18 months. Now the album is good, but for as long as they worked on it, it should have been better.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that sometimes if you take too long to work on something, you kind of get bored with the product so-to-speak, and you endup changing things which in turn makes the music not as great as it should have been.

Eaither way, I'm sure LP know what they're doing. And I think we're all in store for a nice treat with this album.

Cool news, I don't think it is too good of a tihng if they really take their time on the album. Then in my opinion I think they start over thinking things and try making it too perfect where in the end it will just hurt the album. Kinda like Meteora. I mean Somewhere I Belong would have been just as good of a song if they used chorus 10 over chorus 50.

 

Thats good news, I cant wait till Linkin Parks' site changes to match the new album. Thats always fun. Hopefully soon...?

I think Joe meant he wanted to have the album finished by the summer, not released. I think Lp finishes the album like two months before it's released. So I change my prediction from December to October.

 

when a band member has slated a released date then it should be semi-correct lol. i hope it is released sooner rather than later, i juts want new material!

 

I'm expectin an event like they did a few weeks before Meteora was released. They did an MTV 2$ Bill concert but it was basically like a promo show for Meteora!

 

you think they'll play europe before the album is released like what they did for meteora?
