Death Note Code Geass Monster Gankutsuou Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal Berserk Ghost in the Shell Some of my favourites
Spriggan's my all-time favorite anime film. The original Ghost in the Shell film's amazing as well. It's much better than the atrocity that they call a "series." Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, and Trigun are three of my favorite series. And, of course, there's always Dragon Ball Z, which, as horrible an anime it was, was always badass. And you can't forget about Pokémon.
Haha Pokemon, Digimon and Beyblade I had always stayed away from. I guess the whole concept of buying thousands of cards etc just put me off. I'm currently Bleach-ing, (193rd episode). It's great. I guess Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X) was my "first love". And Sakura Cardcaptor was my dream, as I used to idolize Sakura when I was a kid, and always wished to be like her. Also, as far as other manga/anime goes, Kindaichi files are the best detective ones. I had to repeatedly read them in order to understand how he figured the murder cases out. And Princess knight is lovely. A fairy tale of sorts.
I've read a whole lot of manga, so much that I can't even remember the names to them all. I've read shouen ai and shoujo ai. I read or watch anything as long as it's good. here are a few of the ones I've found the most badass or memorable. i only ever watch Anime, Manga really just takes up too much time and cash anyway heres a list i like and would recommend: Samurai X Great Teacher Onizuka Genshiken Asatte No Houko Kamichu! Minami-ke Suzuka Honey and Clover Bleach Gintama Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuustu Beck Detroit Metal City Welcome to the NHK! Cowboy Bebop Full Metal Panic Hyakko Elfen Lied Neon Genesis Evangelion FLCL
Thanks for reminding me about these. I've only seen the anime versions of Miname-ke and NHK, but I also read the manga and watch the live action jdrama for Honey and Clover. Chika Umino has such a nice drawing style. Graphicfoot: *highfives back* I LOVED both of them alot. Hana-Kimi was hillarious as always and probably made me realize just how much I love bishonen looking guys again. ~v~ Since I also read the manga series before in jr. high, it was great knowing a few things to happen in series that my brother didn't expect. Ah, it brought back memories of when I exhanged manga with my friends in school. Nodame Cantabile made me fall in love with classical music again. I used to take piano lessons and it often brought tears to my eyes when they performed big numbers or orchestrated pieces. My brother makes fun of me because I'm alot like Nodame and would probably be more like her if I had continued piano. I love Tamaki Hiroshi (Chiaki) in it too! Aside from that, does anybody read OEL (Original English-language) manga or any manga originating from their country? I'm always interested in these and read them sometimes myself, even if they're doujin works/dA. I think it's a little obvious from my art thread, but I've been seriously wishing to make my own to enter Tokyopop's RSOM contest since 5th grade, I believe. I'm in 11th grade now, so I think it's time. With more practice, I think I would be able to. I've recently found the story I wanted to use, so maybe I could enter the next one or so. (or at least, I hope)
oh yeah Nodame Cantabile haha the first season was ace...second season wasnt as ace! T_T did anyone watch Kino No Tabi? i loved it
Awesome! I love the Hana Kimi drama, and still can't get over it. Plus Ikuta Toma as Nakatsu was PERFECT. The Nodame Cantabile drama was a lot of fun too. I love the sequences in which they show a toy airplane stumbling from the runway . Hilarious. And I loved Chiaki too! Also, Stressman's (Takenaka Naoto) character is amazing .
So I've realized I watch very little in comparison to most of you. I watch: Bleach (up to episode 185) Hagane No Renkinjutsushi! (Me and a friend say that like the captain commander from Bleach and it always cracks us up, kinda an inside joke, but still funny. ;p) Any anime series (other than chobits) anyone would highly recommend me to watch? Think I'll be spending a lot of time in this thread.
Ok thanks Evan, I'll wiki them to see what they are about and how many episodes there are etc. I only watch Japanese with English subtitles the English versions of Bleach that I've seen clips on Youtube of are just terrible. :\ LPA Team Anime.
