A Thousand Suns is said to be the band's FIRST Concept Album, by this moment they are busy in the studio for their 5th Album.. Is there a possibility a SEQUEL to A THOUSAND SUNS? What's on your mind?
ATS was a concept album in the vaguest sense possible. That said, they'll probably keep going in that direction, yes.
The next album will likely continue on with the ideals of ATS, in the respect that the band will again try to make music that both challenges their imagination and defies what the fans and critics have come to expect of them. In fact, I would not be surprised if this next album creates as big of a fuss as ATS did. Chester has gone as far as to say that he wants this album to "polarize" people, and even saying that if anything sounds like music they've made before they're going to toss the idea. Now of course, with all due respect to Chester, what they've said vs what we've got has been different at times (Meteora was supposed to sound like Pantera, and MTM was supposed to be a heavier album) but if they even stick to the mentality of ATS slightly we might be in for one hell of a different album. I just hope the fans will be more accepting of it this time around. ATS (as accepted as it is now) was a headache for us when it first came out. So many idiots came on here and caused trouble cause they couldn't handle the change.
I expect the music to sound different, but I wouldn't be surprised if we got an album that's more political than A Thousand Suns lyric-wise.
I agree with Benjamin, in that I think politically I think they're gonna take a more controversial stance. Musically I expect something totally unexpected that way I can say I totally expected whatever it is they release XD because it will be unexpected, whatever it is. (well it'll be unexpected by everyone but me XD)
I think for better or for worse this album will probably be their most political. Not sure if I'll like that, but hell if the album is good, then that's all that matters.
I'm all for it. I would love more political/social lyrics. I hope they really go to piss some people off. I'm not sure thats totally their style but what is these days
i think that was their point from the very begging since ATS. i think for their next album it's going to be very different regarding concept
Don't want a sequel to ATS...would like for it to be way different than any of their past albums (including ATS). Some more political lyrics would be cool, I also want some darker lyrics. I just want it to be different...I don't expect big heavy rock songs anymore, or big power ballads, after hearing and realizing what ATS is, I expect crazy from LP.
At least he was dead-on when he said ATS would sound like a cross between Hybrid Theory and Minutes to Midnight.
The next album should sound like Hybrid Theory and ATS, the lyrics of a song could be something like... "Everything you say to meeee takes me one step closer to the sky! and I'm about to burn!, I need a little room to save myseeeeeeeelf cause I'm one step closer to the sky and I'm about toooooooooo float!". Bridge tune:"shut up when im talking to you" part of osc song). "Come on god take me to the sky! come on ! come on ! come on ! come on god lift me up ! come on! come on ! come on! I know I'm gonna burn!.
