I swear I've heard that melody before in one or two songs before! It sounds so familiar but I can't put my finger on it. Also:
Nah. Closest I can get is a mixture of: AND a bit of
Kroeger's part nearly ruins it, I don't hate Nickelback the way a lot of people do but it doesn't fit here well at all. The Avril stuff is top notch though. Since someone said Evanescence I do feel a kind of "Seether with Amy Lee" form it, which I'm not really liking.
To me it just sounds like a Nickelback tune with Avril singing. It's not horrible but it's not great either.
Is there a precedent for a music business couple who've made a song and have NOT split afterwards? Not arsed to hear the song though. At least not now.
I mean, the instrumentation is great and all and Avril's not bad here (I never heard her sound this mature before)...but it's Kroeger that makes this sound way too Nickelback once he comes in. After his verse, everything else just sounded like Nickelback feat. Avril to me. I do love the piano here though.
