Battle of the Bands Part II

These two bands sound very different, but both have become huge hits. Same thing as last round, give your reviews on each band and choose a winner.

Hoobastank
These guys are great. They have their soft and touching songs like The Reason and Lucky and their harder hits like Same Direction, Out of Control, Just One. My only complaint is I think their drumming totally ruined most of their self-titled album.

Yellowcard
Wow, Yellowcard really rocks. I remember listening to Way Away on radio before their album came out, and I knew they were bound to hit it big. All their singles, along with Gifts and Curses, are simply amazing, but to be honest that's the only songs I've heard by them so my judgement may be a little biased.

Winner: Yellowcard. Ryan Key's voice is great, and who can beat a band with a fiddler?

 

Hoobastank. Very energetic and his voice is freaking awesome.

Just as catchy but they have a heavier sound which i like a bit more

Hoobastank: I just like Hoobastank's music more, i dont think there is a single Hoobastank song that i dont like, whereas there are a lot of Yellowcard songs i dont like. Doug Robb's voice is awesome too.

 

I own both of these bands most recent albums and there both freakin' amazing, but Yellowcard is gettin' my vote on this one... B)

 

Im a huge Hoobastank fan. I can listen to The Reason and I dont hate one song on that album.

 

I voted for Hoobastank, but honestly this vote would be toss up for me. They are both great bands with great lead singers, who write amazing lyrics. Yellowcard does have the violinist which gives them somewhat of an edge but I just love Out of Control too much, so thats why i ended up votong for Hoobastank.

 

With Hoobastank I wasn't really into their music that much but I decided to buy their cds when I knew they were going on tour with Linkin Park for the Meteora World Tour. Both cds rock with great lyrics and songs and they're a kick ass live band.

I do like Yellowcard but not just as much as I like Hoobastank. I like how they use the violin in their songs and it's done very well. I can't listen to their album straight through though. There are some songs I don't like so I skip over them. I don't do that with Hoobastank's cds.

Hoobastank wins my vote.

 

Oh geez where's all the Yellowcard fans when you need them. Hoobastank is actually the band that I always skip on my iPod every time they pop up, whereas I never get tired of the Yellowcard songs.

 

I love both bands but I voted for Yellowcard since I can't stop listening to Only One these days.

 

Winner : Hoobastank. Doug's vocals are just too awesome.

Hoobastank. I just prefer their overall sound.

 

i actually like hoobastank even though i used to hate them...but i never got into yellowcard.

 

Yellowcard. I just have more of a taste for their style of music, but I'm not a big fan of them in particular.

 

well at least this battle is a little bit closer than the last one lol.
