The Catalyst. Waiting For The End. Burning In The Skies. Iridescent. Blackout? If there is to be a fifth and last single, it has to be Blackout, right? Because I am pumped to even begin imagining what the third part of the song will be accompanied on by in the music video... the part where Mike sings, with that sexy MIDI arpeggio in the background. Something bright as white
I don't know if the album's been successful enough to warrant a fifth single, and, at this point, they've pretty much released, like, half the songs on the album as singles already :"
Yeah I don't think they'll release anymore. I wanted WTCFM to be the the 4th one in place of Iridescent, but that didn't happen. Time to move on to the next album now.
I'd hoped "Iridescent" would be the album's last single anyway, whether there'd be four or five of them. What, with "Dark Of The Moon" and everything, it has the chance to be one of the band's most successful singles, ending the "A Thousand Suns" album cycle on a pretty good note.
- For me personally, it's would be great if Blackout became a single #5, on the album A thousand suns.
Fair enough. It seems Blackout won't be a single... logically. But we never know, I am still not going to close myself on this thought, although even I feel that the band has done enough of A Thousand Suns now, and it's time to move on. Offtopic, Iridescent is a great song.. and I'm happy there's gonna be a video to it. What I won't be happy with is if there's footage of Transformers 3 in it. Hopefully, not.
I love Mike's last verse towards the end of the song coupled with the uplifting piano melody, but unless they cut out the breakdown mid-song, I don't see it becoming a single. The Iridescent/Transformers hype will probably drown out any picking choice for now. Just my two cents.
I don't see Blackout as a single. Too heavy for mainstream radio, and ATS hasn't done as well as MTM or the past albums have, I think Iridescent will end as the last single for ATS era.
I don't mean to divide this conversation into sides... I really want Blackout to be a single. It is something that connects a lot of people to the ravage-power-chords Linkin Park, and I believe radios won't have problem playing this. Rock/metal stations. But they're already in the process of making a new album. Yet again, I am still expecting something or the other from the band.. a little more mileage out of ATS. And ATS is beginning to receive award-attention: something I guess will drive all those people who condemned it to actually give it a listen.. and I'm thinking they'll like it. Placebo.
Blackout ftw! In honesty, I'd say Wretches and Kings. Would be on everyyy sports highlight and Counter Strike vid.
I don't see Blackout doing all that well as a single really. I love the song to death but I don't think it's really all that radio friendly. When they come for me would be a ballsy and great move as a single though imo.
