Totally didn't see that coming. Here's the link: http://www.mirror.co.uk/showbiz/lat...ration-too-sexy-for-new-album-89520-20592398/
Oh my goodness, Viva La Vida is brilliant, and I would shout that from rooftops among a list of other very great albums. Much love, Babali
Listening to it online... it's alright. I don't think it's a huge difference from the old Coldplay, personally. There are some pretty darn good songs in there, though. Edit: Will get a better version to hear the whole thing properly, however. Will give thoughts then.
Is "Life In Technicolor" supposed to sound muffled? I just want to know if I have a bad rip. And if it is supposed to sound like that, then that's my only gripe about their new album. It's a great instrumental and muffling it takes away how good it really sounds, imo.
Ah, so I did have a bad rip, lol. I retract my statement above. Now I can give this album a 10/10 since I now have the correct version.
After I've heard the whole album, I like it, but it's just a bit bland, I think. Besides "Violent Hill" and "Viva La Vida", I think it's essentially the exact same stuff Coldplay's been writing since they've been around. I'm kind of amazed to see some reviews saying how much better the lyrics are, when it's only those two songs that are any different lyrically (and by no means did I ever think Martin wrote bad lyrics). None of the songs are bad, and many are quite catchy ("Lost" and "Strawberry Swing", for instance), but there wasn't really a point when I was listening where I just thought "whoa." It's just a good album. I'd give it a 7/10.
The album was very consistent. I thought they brought a new twist to their signature sound. Very good album!
Oh snap, just thought I'd bump the thread to say that Coldplay posted a new, short but sweet track, "Death Will Never Conquer", on their website for free, in celebration their tour kicking off. www.coldplay.com
