How much do you guys know about the 2 tracks.

The Beginning Of High Voltage is The End Of Cure For The Itch

We all know that HV is a B-side on one step closer.

I would like to know If High voltage was ment to be on the album as Track 12 And why it was it was cut.

Check out the clip View attachment 2156

Yes, "High Voltage" was originally intended to follow up "Cure" on "Hybrid Theory". It was later removed from the tracklist because the band didn't feel it fit well with the other songs. :) It was subsequently put out as "Hybrid Theory"'s one and only B-side on a variety of releases between 2000 and 2002.

I used to put High Voltage right after Cure For The Itch on my iPod version of Hybrid Theory. It sounds really cool.

I've heard it explained somewhere (at this point, it's been so long that I honestly don't remember if it was an official source or not) that part of the reasoning for High Voltage getting cut from HT was the fact that it would've been the only song on the album with profanity in it. Granted, they ended up censoring out "shit" on the final mix that was released anyway, but even then, I think it would've felt detached from the album for that reason. Another possible explanation I've heard is that it would've been the only non-instrumental song of the batch that didn't feature Chester prominently.

I was kind of hoping they'd do a re-release of the album with that song restored to the tracklisting for the 10th anniversary, but oh well. Maybe someday.

I've still got a bit of a backlog of videos to put up that I recorded before I moved in March. Most of them are just re-shoots of songs I've covered in the past, but there were a few that needed substantial improvement. I don't really have a good excuse for why I've been putting up videos so infrequently lately, other than I like to put them up early in the day and I tend to forget to do it before I leave for work. I'll probably throw another one up tomorrow.
