Hey guys, still no music video for any of the four songs yet. Do you think Linkin Park will release a music video for THP?
I think we already have the Lyric Video of UIG (saw it yesterday in a music TV.) the others singles probably not, Mike just said that he hates Music videos and Joe is busy with his Movie.
They're making a live video for Until It's Gone. Kind of like the WFTE, but it's most likely the official one.
Lyric videos are much more cost-effective in a post-MTV/TRL era. The point of a music video has primarily been to get the word out to a broad audience that a new single has been released. The artistry and direction have always been a secondary focus in my opinion. The videos are time consuming and expensive to make. And they also eliminate interpretations fans may have had of the song. With that said, I don't believe the band ever stated that they'd discontinue producing them. I've actually been expecting one for UIG for a while now. I don't think GATS will get a video treatment unless they use in-studio footage from Rakim's recording sessions.
I dunno. I'd much rather see the band lay off doing music videos this time, although I am interested in that live video they're doing for "Until It's Gone"!
Yes!!!! I LOVE music videos when they are worked to feel like a movie or something more artistic. Oh man The Catalyst, Leave Out All The Rest for example, I fucking love them, Waiting For The End is also a favorite. Are they really going to do a Live Video? Studio Performance or just stay with these boring Lyrics videos? Come on LP! Which band has someone like Joe Hahn to direct such awesome videos??
probably. but i hope not, music videos are a bit pointless unless theres a real concept behind it or obviously reach the mainstream audience. so in LP case a video is pointless, they are a huge band. and i doubt katy perry fans will decide to buy LP's albums after watching a music video on TV. and pretty much everyone hates the process of making them pearl jam stayed a long time without making music videos, LP could do the same

What I mean is that, from a creative standpoint, lyrics videos are far more "boring" than standard music videos. Shinoda's criticisms of the latter format should apply just as much to the former
