as some of you may know, downloading p2p was made legal in canada recently. (yay!) but uploading is still illegal. what's the difference??
It means that when you download, you're simply tapping into what's already there. When you upload, or when people download off you, you're basically spreading around copyrighted materials.
That's a self-contradictory move. P2P cannot function without things working both ways. If you use a program like Kazaa or WinMX, you won't be able to download anything unless other people upload their files and make them available for you.
Well yah but that is why they make one side of it illegal. So that hopefully it will deter people form doing it and eventually stop. This is why in canada it is illegal for underage people to buy tobacco product but it is not illegal for them to use them.
