Written from the standpoint of a teenage Emo girl whos favorite band is probably Hawthorne Hieghts.

This isn't really bashing emo in general, just one certain ******** Hawthorne Hieghts song.

Well, instead of calling it the Emo song you can call it something that involves Hawthorne Hights and actualy have Hawthorne Hights in the lyrics.

I really don't get what it is with dividing rock into 50,000 different genres. Supposedly, it organizes it, right? Well, all it does for me is make me more confused.

i think once you get a grasp on the type of music in each sub-genre. it does become easier to understand. when you see a band labled something like /emo/screamo/ punk/. and you only like /metal/hardcore/. it can become easier to discern bands that you may like from bands that you wont like. IMO

i agree. but you can't say that all (insert genre here) bands suck. Like when people say "pop". you could be referring to Hillary Duff or you could be talking about The Ramones. most labels are pretty broad.

Forgive me. I shouldn't have generalized. I don't hate all emo, or all of any type of music. Relax.
