Amy Lee has actually mouthed the same words of linkin park band members in another article saying that all bands need to evolve. And of course we all know this.

Heres an article that makes me ecstatic. A risky move? experimented with electronic textures? Jackpot! I may fall in love with this one.:headbang:

Not a fan of the band, some good songs, but what you described sounds fucking awesome!

They were somewhat electonic before. I've been a pretty big fan of them since about 2005. Amy is a very talented singer. She also has her moments where I want to bang the bajeezus out of her.

Amy can be a bitch but I like her music. Hope this turns out better than The Open Door.

Can't really picture an electronic Evanescence, but I do like their music so I'm kind of excited.

Fallen is one of my favourite albums ever. The Open Door was shit and one of the biggest dissapointments of my life, musically speaking.

I have no expectations whatsoever for another Evanescence album, but I know I'll probably give it a listen when it comes out.

I thought The Open Door was pretty great, actually.

Good for you. But did you seriously have to post this reply, and misspell safely just to tell us you weren't interested in the album? You kind of wasted your own time bro.

I'm eagerly awaiting the new album.

Ashamedly, I much prefered the commercial Fallen to The Open Door. TOD had some good moments, but overall I didn't like how it just seemed to be an attempt at some overly-epic, overly-dark album.

Electronica seems to be influencing all music at the moment which is something I'm thrilled about. So I'm looking forward to this alot.

Should be an interesting album. I may stream it before hand, since I'm not really that big a fan of Evanescence.

Shouldn't this be titled something more along the lines of "Amy Lee's first solo album" since she's the only original member of Evanescence that hasn't quit because they got sick of her or been fired by her?

I think if they label it as Evanescence they will attract more attention to it.

Didn't she compare the new Evanescence material to Portishead at one point?

EDIT: Ah, that interview is linked to at the end. :)

Fallen was a great commercial debut for it's time. Unfortunately, The Open Door seemed a bit pretentious in it's craft, and didn't really push any boundaries in the process. Hopefully this follow-up to their sophomore album provides for better musical sustenance. Nom nom.

The album is not coming out this fall, and according to Amy Lee on EvThreads there's no estimate as to when it's coming out, as WindUp are experiencing trouble which could delay the album considerably. Quote from Amy:

Since then there's been no update at all. For all we know the album might be on hiatus, or indefinitely postponed.

Hehehe, loved their first album, but their second album just sucked.... All the original members, except for Amy are out of it... Kinda dissappointing.

But yeah the other former members just created an other band called ''We Are The Fallen''.

I like that band, it is just the new Evanascence xD

Their drummer and guitarist actually joined Future Leaders Of The World (now called Machina). They are a really good band with one of the better vocalists I've heard. They kind of fell off the radar and are supposed to have some things coming out or already out, but I can never find any proof of that besides Wikipedia.

Yeah, on that subject I was wondering if anyone else had the following experience from around 2006-2008, where all the nu-metal and associated alt metal bands that had gotten you to start seriously listening to music (LP, Evanescence, Disturbed, etc.) all seemed to put all terrible, terrible follow-ups? I hated TOD, as you can probably tell I was an MTM hater until very recently, I haven't listened to a Disturbed or P.O.D. release since 2006, etc. Maybe it's just me, but did anyone else feel like the latter half of the last decade was characterized by amazing nu-metal bands putting out complete shit (MTM notwithstanding of course :p)?
