Fans Shed Light on 'Midnight': 45 'Minutes' Worth

According to LPTimes, Linkin Park fans worldwide have posted, and translated an article from German Rock magazine, which reviewed Linkin Park's highly-anticipated release Minutes to Midnight. The following are key tidbits from the translation:

- The album runs approximately 45 minutes in length, surpassing previous efforts by roughly 10 minutes.

- 'Wake,' the introductory track, described as a "dark instrumental" runs about a minute and a half in length. Whether this track is the traditional "Joe Hahn spotlight" song is unknown.

- 'Valentine's Day,' described by Chester as a pop-esque track, is the slowest song on the disc; 'Bleed it Out' is one of the fastest.

- 'The Little Things Give You Away' is roughly 6 minutes and 30 seconds in length, being the longest song Linkin Park have ever recorded.

45 minutes isn't bad.

 

If it wasn't for "The Little Things Give You Away" the album would be right around the length of Hybrid Theory and Meteora, which is sad. So, thank goodness for this song. I'm fine with 45 minutes.

Another five minutes would be nice, but then again this hopefully means it will be more concise considering all the new things they're meant to be trying.

I was really hoping for 50-60 minutes. I'm hoping the entire album will be enjoyable, but I was kind of hoping that 18 months in the studio might produce an hour long album with 15-17 tracks. Maybe next time LP will release a double album.

 

You know, Hybrid Theory was only about 1 minute longer than Meteora and it was 37 minutes long. This is an increase of the album length to something reasonable and standard considered in the media.

That, and I hate listening to an hour worth of complete crap that will tire me out. This is good.

if the iTunes exclusives are actual b-sides, the album will be a tad longer, which at this point, doesn't bother me anymore. I'm very happy with 43-45 minutes. anything longer might get boring, whoknows.


I'm intrigued to hear what "In Between" sounds like. this is the second review that has basically called this song "trash". what could possibly be bad about it? just difference in what people are used to with Linkin Park or could it possibly be the first real "bad track"? hmmmm.

45 minutes is good for me. At least its longer then the other LP albums.

 

if that's what they mean by "bad", then I guess it really won't be so bad. I like those songs ,but I do see where people think it's some of their weakest work, atleast Hit The Floor
