Not sure the level of fashion expertise at the LPA here, but I bought these two items on sale independently of each other, but noticed they may be able to function together. The people at H&M thought they would work, but they could have just been trying to make a sale, so I some other opinions. You should take some pictures outside because it's pretty hard to see on the pics you posted. Plus it's better to judge in broad daylight anyway. I don't think you should worry though, you always look neat.
Being someone who creates his own style very often, I can tell you that there is never anything wrong with trying something a little unique from time to time. Even if it's something that you wouldn't normally place together, if it looks good and not out of place, you can't go wrong. Personally I think both compliment eachother greatly and it's a good pick.
