Noodles is actually their lead guitarist. Greg K plays bass for them.

Does anyone actually think Phoenix is any good at bass? hes pretty mediocre compared to some other bassists.

Phoenix: He's mediocre if anything on record, but live he's good for supplementing the guitar.

Noodles plays bass as well, I think he was on bass for most of Americana.
