The night was dark, and the air was cool. The sound of soft rocky dirt under us, And the calm walk towards the unknown. Are you scared? I'm not quite sure. The trees came sparsely, so that the moon's shine fluttered. There was a distant pop, but not just one. We walked towards the sound, and the distant light. We were curious and unsure, for we did not know. Before we came close, we slowed to a stop. Why should we keep going? It was mysterious. We fretted together in a tense silence, yet it was a deafening distance. It tore our hearts apart, and still we yearned for togetherness. Backing away from each other, but walking into our backs. We turned and into an embrace, so locked in our worries and sorrows. There it was again, Some more strange pops. We walked slowly and cautiously together, and close side by side. The intense brilliance shined through any darkness, and the noise was cascading to us. The light was unbearable, but as we got closer, We heard Explosions in the Sky. And as the empyrean glow wrapped us together, and so our eyes to each other. A faint butterfly flew by, and by its shadow, we smiled. I felt a warm, soft touch. I felt wave of joy. I held it with my heart as well. We took a step forward. With your hand in mine. ====== Thanks for reading.
