Wow I would LOVE to see a vocoder part like that on a future LP record. That sounded awesome as fuck. *EDIT* Playlist of all the songs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nkWwV2Lnb4&list=PLUcJ6MCRab3vqjv-g2dUVFtMnthGct1QT&index=1
Yeah -- I never thought I'd be so amazed at anything from this show, but Shinoda really switched it up on us. Pleasant surprises aplenty.
As of right now this is not a playlist of all the songs. Missing: In Stereo Dolla WFTE/HHH Castle of Glass Kenji UIB High Road Believe Me/WTCFM Until It Breaks in the other video was fun. And yeah, that vocoder bit of Cigarettes was A+.
The only songs I've watched so far with Mike singing is Devil's Drop, but he sounds really, really good. I'm impressed.
After watching a good portion of the set on the YouTubes, I must say this show looks fairly more entertaining than LP's live offerings over the past few years.
Oh I have no misconceptions of that, but if anything, it makes me feel like Mike would do better with um, a better supporting cast as it were?
TBH, what would have been best for Mike is making a whole album completly solo. He rocked the stage alone, and it would be a good break to do just whatever he wants to, not depending on anyone else, at all!
I really hope that they will unleash the Shinoda beast at the Linkin Park show too. I miss Brad jumping across the stage too, i mean, i think that a little bit of craziness would be nice even if i understand the "mainstream" side of the concert and band members getting older too of course.
I remember a few times where we debated in the shoutbox if Mike could pull off a solo album. The consensus that he definitely could but would most likely perform live. I am rethinking that now. Devils Drop is really great live. Until it Breaks! Too. Though it is weird he sang the middle portion but cut the outro entirely. Now to be greedy. Robot Boy, Mike. Not using instruments live is not an excuse now when your set consists mostly of backing tracks with segments of instrumental solos. Just have Chester come out and assist. Give it. O_O We need it. Also, It goes through!
I don't know about a Linkin Park record, but I definitely want to see it on a future Fort Minor album (make it happen Mike!).
that show was so energetic,it seems like he really enjoyed the performance,I cant imagine that he wouldnt want to drop an album later this year, and the release of this version of Cigarettes would be nice too
Finally watching more footage from the show. I'm kind of disappointed that Shinoda had to have the acoustic gtr on playback for "Devil's Drop". He could've had a nice stripped-down, folky moment playing it himself, with a click to stay in time with the other elements. The added drums and bass parts work, though. A nice way to change up the song and add some dynamic variety.
Nananana naaaana... Aaaaaaa aaaa aaaa aaaa aaaah... Aaaaaaa aaaa aaaa aaaa aaaah... I can sing it all... day... long...
Introduction actually opened the show. Petrified's intro was cool. Like, CONSISTENTLY good. (he uses a bit of autotune in Believe Me, I think) This dude has most of the videos: https://www.youtube.com/user/Hybr1d7h3ory/videos
You think Mike will release a remix of Cigarettes? Seems like an awful lot of reworking that he did to that song just for one performance.
