FINALLY!! Loved their first album and I loved when Ruby first came out. It's been too long. That song sounds like a major banger.

If you guys wanna hear some new tracks from the album, just Youtube their recent live shows. There's a ton of them there.
I don't know if I can say it's better than Torches upon first listen, but it is pretty good. You can tell Foster's writing is a lot more emotional and angry - and considering how talented of a lyricist he is, it works out very nicely. There are some songs that are very reminiscent of Torches ("Best Friend"), but then there are some songs that just throw you for a fucking loop "Pseudologia Fantastica." I got very nervous at first, but "Are You What You Want to Be" turned out to be a great track, and "Fire Escape" is a great way to close the album (acoustic track). I personally can't stop listening to "Coming of Age," largely because it's so relatable. It's a good album that I'll need to listen to more once it comes out. It doesn't disappoint. My initial review is that while I think Torches is more consistent throughout, some of the songs on Supermodel are just so much stronger. Like, I'll come out and say right now that "Pseudologia Fantastica" is the best song they've put out (in my opinion).
Foster the People in general takes several listens to hook you in. I remember thinking Torches was a good album when I first heard it, but upon repeat listens it was fantastic. I get the same feeling with Supermodel. It's a super-solid album. The second playthrough improved. I'm not going to judge apples and oranges until maybe half a year down the road.
That makes sense. Their quirkiness can be interesting at first, but they are so solid through and through. Most of these bands that get such debut success drop off during their second album, but it doesn't look like it so much with Foster the People. The album seems really thoughtful, which I like.
New video for Best Friend. Very psychedelic. Also, we have our "Supermodel".
