The sky, a lovely shade of gray As the leaves dance away I can remember the innocence And now I see today The garden blooming memories That never will be again There is a hope for tomorrow Hanging at the end of the sky Waiting to move further away The lake is portrait A beautiful shade of sorrow Begging me to call it home As time steps on I call for its embrace Such a beautiful night Such a precious memory I bid you farewell And so I see; Hope is a butterfly Fluttering away from my grasp. There is a hope for tomorrow Hanging at the end of the sky Waiting to move further away There is a scream for mercy That wasn't heard The lake holds me still Will I ever return? To see the sunrise To say goodbye?
You are really writing things close to me recently. The idea of hopelessness has really consumed me. As has the idea of suicide. Great work. I can never write so well in free verse like that.
