My father is a racist against homosexuals, black people, etc. It's helped me learn over the years that what he says isn't right. My veiws on gay relationships are completly opposite of his, and always will be. This is what he says, "To me there's nothing wrong with gay people, I respect them (liar) just as long as they don't do anything...in public". I never understood this. Why can't they? If Women and Men can go around, hugging, kissing, holding hands. What's so wrong with two men or two women doing that?

The term 'gay' has been missused for years. Most here know that it really means 'happy'. When most people say the term 'gay' they think of a nasty gross person, mostly a man maybe, that kisses guys. So they cringe in disgust. It has never disgusted me, It bothers me that people actually act this way. I hear people say, "I don't agree in gay marriage though if they have an adopted child. They can be married, I don't care. But if they adopt a child they have to be EXTREMELY careful for what the child 'sees' them 'doing'."

A man and a woman need to be just as careful. It doesn't matter if it's a man with a man or a woman with a woman it matters wether or not they're good parents, if they are then they're capable to be handling a child of their own. Post your thoughts on what you think and post your opinions.

My views change all the time. It's like, i'll think of gay marriage. And first i'll think: Marriage should be between a man and a woman. Then i'll end up thinking: But don't homosexuals deserve the same rights? It's something that I can never make a sure decision on. I'll post again later on the subject when i'm not so tired

The term "gay" fits homosexuals and lesbians perfectely because they ARE happy. They have found their true sexual preference and are not only happy but also proud of who and what they are. Hence why there's an organization called GLAAD. You can be sure that wasn't a coincidence, they are 'glad' they are gay and lesbian and are going to fight till their dying day for equal rights to straight couples.

And who knows, maybe one day they might. The public's view on gay couples has changed considerably over the past 20 years. It's not half as 'taboo' as it was considered only a decade earlier.

From what I understand, gay marriage is legal in Canada. It's only a matter of time before that happens here.

Gays & Lesbians should get the same treatment as straight people, but in the society we live in, that'll never happen, if only because of the religion this country was founded on and based it's morals on.

I agree with you 100%, Anya.

Ever since I was young, I never had anything against homosexuals and I don't think I ever will. I don't believe being homosexual is anything wrong because they're just like anyone else, but they just have a different 'taste' in the types of people they're attracted to. I don't see any reason to dislike these people. Though I'm not always comfortable seeing the same gender's you know, making out, I have nothing against it, because to be honest, seeing two 'straight' people swallowing eachother makes me cringe as well . Anyways, I believe everyone should be able to express the way they want to live, and no one should tell others other-wise, etc. I mean, you don't see homosexuals claiming straights are evil/wrong, so why should we do that to them?

I just see no reason to really have anything against anyone who doesn't seem to be/think like you do :wth:.

I can definately see a 10 page thread coming. To me, theres nothing wrong with gays and lesbians. Why cant people just live their own life and stop trying to manipulate others', especially when it has zero effect on their own.

People will never accept the fact that someone's opinion is different than their own. It's human nature.

Sorry for getting offtopic, but all the things wrong with the world are really making me doubt religion. My parents raised me to be a christian, but I stopped going to church about a year ago. There's just so many things that I dont get about the bible. I mean, it seems kinda absurd that so many people base their lives on a book that they have no proof who wrote. Theres just so much more proof of scientific evolution but christians seem to just ignore that fact. Again, sorry for rambling, its been a long week.

Yeah, If I saw two guys making out, I may cringe too. But i'd just move on and let them move about with their business like I do mine. If I do cringe, I wouldn't do it in a way of thinking it was gross, I'd just being doing that because i'm not used to it. It's not an everyday thing you see in life because most people like to keep things kind of secret, and away from others.

If I ever cringe at a person for doing that, i'd mentally slap myself for it later on anyways lol. But no matter what I will always except people who are like that. Even if it is new and different, i'll just try to keep in mind that my views and opinions are important and to never let go of those opinions. Those opinions could help me later on in life, you never know.

Some state inspectors came to check out our school the other day, and they questioned a select group of students about our school and what they think of it, how it's run, etc.

One of the questions that came up was, "How would students in your school react if a person came out and openly admitted that he/she was gay?" Every student that was questioned answered the same. They would automatically be hated. They'd be made fun of, looked down upon, and the topic of all the 'gossip.' And it's true. People cannot accept it here, so those who are indeed gay won't admit to it for fear of being made fun of or hated.

And it's been proven that some people are naturally born that way, so why should they be shot down for something they can't change? Not that they should have to change it anyway, but ya know...

Ah, there's another thing. The Bible, I don't believe in the Bible. Well...i'm Jewish actually so I have a right to lol. But if that offends anyone I apoligize.

If you think about it, the Bible has been translated by several men and women for centuries. I don't understand how even one single word in the bible could even be truthful. Especailly when I read, "Intercourse with the same sex/gender is sinful" or at least it said somthing like that.

If the Bible has been translated so many times, and has been changed around by so many people, how could you believe in it? I don't quite understand the Bible either. Sorry if that is offensive, because if it is tell me. It's just my opinion that's all.

It's only sinful if you're not married.

To be honest, there are a few homosexuals in my school, and they're like the most popular in the entire school, lol.

Either Hawaii is backwards or whatever is convincing those that homosexuals are bad have it totally backwards... Or something....

IMO, gay people deserve the exact same rights straight people, including marraige. After all, what's wrong with them? How are they so different from the straight people? We're all human. Just because they like the same sex, does that make them unhuman? I think not. So why should they be denied the same rights that the constitution guarantees to every human being on U.S. soil?

It's almost going the same direction as black people and racism. Just without the slavery. People need to realize gay, straight, black, white, lesbian, hispanic..whatever they are. Everyone is human, everyone has feelings. All everyone wants to do is just ignore that but you can't you just can't.

If I could make everyone except everyone and everything I would but there's stubborn people on this earth and there's almost nothing I can do about it. I can help a few people but I can't make everyone believe that equal rights should be taken notice of. It's so hard, It annoys me SO much. And the fact that I have to live with someone who has to point out everyday that homosexuals and black people are sinful hurts me.

I don't understand how the world can be so cruel, I wish for equality I wish for everyone to understand one another. It's not just about having rights to me it's about everyone understanding one another. It's hard to put and end to all of it but the subject on gay and races makes me so riled up I can't even explain how much. Gay people have just as many rights as people who are straight, and i'd do anything to help make it right.

    I honest to god would.

guys think, oh he's gay, he better not come near me, but if your straight, you dont think that about every girl, because they have choice in who they pick, they dont just go for anyone, and even if their sex looks sore, it still means something personal to them, and its their choice to do it

Indeed, I'm pretty close to a few gay people around my college - I don't see what's wrong with that? They're human aren't they so why aren't they treated like humans in certain places.

It's not really a big deal around here, except with younger teenagers going 'OH THAT'S GAY!!!11' but it happens everywhere so >_>'

But yeah I really think gays/lesbians deserve the same qualities that straights have. No doubts about it.
