    Check this from DJ Lethal on twitter explaining why "State of the Art" was never released:

    Tweeted by Lethal;
    @C_Curiosa my beef isn't with mike. Its chester.I paid him $25,OOO for a song that his label didn't approve for release. Chester owes me my$

    I have no idea where they're getting their sources from.....but honestly sounds unlikely. Linkin Park, if they are mixing and mastering, wouldn't take 11 months to then release the album. ATS was mixed in July and released in September.

    I stopped taking DJ Lethal seriously after Gold Cobra came out. First he starts a feud with Mr. Hahn through a diss track, then he claims it was a joke. Then he backtracks and says Joe isn't a real DJ and starts fighting with Linkin Park fans, only to backtrack on his claims again and state he has no problem with the band and that he thinks Chester is cool. Now he's going on that Chester owes him money and saying he has a problem with him. He also called one of the members of LP a "computer", which is ironic considering Lethal uses the same scratches on every song, doesn't add anything drastic to limp's sound, and yet still calls himself a DJ. State of The Art was mediocre at best, and sounded just like an unused limp b-side with Chester on vocals, which is likely why WB didn't sign off on it. It wasn't really that good of a song. Chester was the only reason it sounded even half decent.
    But if they release the album this summer, it will be within the 18 month range the band was referring to for future releases. It's not out of the realm of possibility.

    Huh, wonder if that source is legit at all. Definitely hoping for that summer release though.

    Nah it wasn't anything more than a rumor, but I've deleted it. No worries :).

    The MSN article was probably written by someone who has only heard One Step Closer, Crawling & In The End, not realizing that Linkin Park haven't been "very loud" for 8 years. Nothing more than speculation on a 2012 release date and somebody's generic idea of what they think a Linkin Park album should sound like.

    Being in a 2012 list at all though is surprising.

    I've seen Linkin Park's 5th album being placed in many, many 2012 lists so far. I haven't bothered putting any in Got News because all this is rumor mill circulating. But loud album, haha, I hate writers who just publish things without a clue to what they're saying. But hey, maybe I'm wrong and Linkin Park smacks us in a face with a loud album. Polarizing indeed.
