I actually really like Nightlife. Like, a lot. And I made fun of Kill the DJ a lot, which was basically the same gimmick.
Nightlife is offensive in how bad it is. It might just displace Peacemaker as the worst song they've written. This guy dookified The Forgotten and made it sound 10x better than Green Day:
^ If you found something worth listening to on Uno, then yes. Otherwise, not really, it's more of the same. Check out the song Lazy Bones if you were a fan of AI though; could fit right in.
I liked a few songs on Uno. Is Fuck Time/Nightlife good songs tho? I don't really wanna listen to something that sound similar to Stray Heart.
^ Just check it out, you'll find something to like if you've ever liked the band. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIjEGjQdsuo&hd=1
Wild One is awesome. Lazy Bones is good. Fuck Time is great. Nightlife reminds me of Kill the DJ, it's alright. These are my fav tracks from the album.
Yeah actually this album seems to have been much less well received than Uno from what I can see, a shame since I consider it a vastly superior album.
Honestly, Tre is my least favourite of the three. Still, Dirty Rotten Bastards and Sex, Drugs and Violence are great stuff.
"Makeout Party" for Dos had some awesome Guitar and Bass work in the end.. Not "awesome" compared to usual Green Day.. Awesome compared to Rock as a whole.. Haven't heard Tre though.. will check it out..
About Dos: Nightlife is my all time favourite Green Day song now(one of them), the catchy chorus, Lady Cobra's vocals, the guitar solo is just cool Wild One: Yeah, another favourite, another catchy chorus, another catchy solo Fuck Time: Stupid lyrics, but it sounds like something from Dookie(that's why I don't like Uno and Dos compared to 21stCB in the first place) Ashley: Great fast-paced song Stop When The Red Lights Flash: Same as above Stray Heart: Cool Bass and good chorus Rest of the album is just not works for me. Uno: I like every song except Rusty James and Loss Of Control. My favourites are Carpe Diem, Kill The DJ and Angel Blue.
Tre leaked? I kind of assumed it would be the worst of the 3, the few songs they had released from it were total shit.
Well yeah it leaked. And yes it's the worst of the 3. The only songs I like are Amanda, Dirty Rotten Bastard, 99 Revolutions,The Forgotten and Brutal Love. The rest of them is just bad IMO.
So I put together what for me would've been a fantastic new Green Day album, instead of three meh-to-good ones: Nuclear Family Stay The Night Carpe Diem Let Yourself Go Sweet 16 Rusty James See You Tonight Lazy Bones Wild One Stray Heart Wow! That's Loud Amy Missing You 8th Avenue Serenade X-Kid Sex, Drugs & Violence Amanda 99 Revolutions If I had to order them to follow the party theme of the album and make it flow, I'd do it like this: See You Tonight Nuclear Family 8th Avenue Serenade Carpe Diem Let Yourself Go Wow! That's Loud Wild One Amanda Stray Heart Stay The Night Sex, Drugs & Violence Lazy Bones Amy Missing You X-Kid Sweet 16 99 Revolutions (doesn't really fit)
Gave it a spin, lame, but not a surprise. Though if I were to combine all the songs together into one album, I'd go with what Shadester has almost exactly.
Honestly, I found Tre to be better than Uno.. "Dirty Rotten Bastards" is definitely the best song of the trilogy in my opinion.. Its like the spiritual successor of "Jesus Of Suburbia" and "21st Century Breakdown".. And yeah, I've noticed something good.. Billie played some pretty decent guitar solos in almost all the songs of the three albums.. Songs like "Makeout Party", "Dirty Rotten Bastards" and "Let Yourself Go" became 100 times more awesome 'cause of the solos..
I really like Kid, and for some reason like 99 Revolutions way less today than I did last night. Odd.
