Seriously, think about it. By playing GoldenEye: Reloaded, I have gotten some more into the Bond-scene again. While listening to New Divide, I could see a typical James Bond intro video being played with it. What if they were chosen to do the intro theme song for Skyfall, the new Bond-movie coming out 26 October 2012? I think it would be freaking awesome, I mean, Chris Cornell did it, why not? PS: Mike, if you're lurking around, please get in contact with MGM
As cool as it would be, I don't think LP would be right for it. There a bit too electronic to work well with the James Bond sound. and all the great songs have always worked well with the soundtracks of John Barry & David Arnold. Unless the new composer for Skyfall is more "modern" and contemporary, it could work, but it wouldn't be James Bond anymore. Obviously I'd prefer them over people like Adele or Noel Gallagher, but they just don't strike me as right for it if you get my meaning? Janelle Monae to sing the next Bond theme I say!
I don't know. I'm sure that IF they would do it, the song would be a BEAST and it would fit in perfectly. LP can do so many different styles and things. Imagine their style mixed with the jazzy Bond-tunes, like Quantum of Solace's themesong.
I also love You Know My Know, and I know that Chris Cornell != (this is the correct sign ) LP. I'm sure it would work but that's my opinion.
As long as the movie was a genuinely good movie (*ahem*Transformers), then yes it would be very cool.
I see LP more as a Get Smart band than a James Bond band. But seriously, it would be interesting to see what they could come up with, but I don't think it would work out all that well.
I welcome the band to try things like this. And think what you want about the Transformers movies themselves, but the band did a superb job in those films.
I'm not sure about this... Even though the bands are light years apart, it's just like saying "Hey, how cool would it be for Limp Bizkit, while in their prime, doing a rendition of the Mission Impossible theme song." By the way as "cool" or whatever as LB made that song, the lyrics make not one bit of sense...
I'm glad you do, but that doesn't mean the band should just throw their music at any movie that comes their way. There has to be a certain level of artistic integrity in a collaboration like this if you want to be taken seriously as artists. It pisses me off to no end that Linkin Park let one of their most beautifully written songs, Iridescent, become the "Transformers song." What a waste.
whatever I love Lp (obviously) and I love james bond. seen all the movies. I think this would be great. To say they couldn't do a song that would fit is absurd
So not to turn this into a Transformers discussion, but I would just like to point out that the song was relevant in the movie. It was actually useful for what was going on in the film, not like how "What I've Done" was just randomly on the radio in the first movie. The song actually helped the emotion in the film. Which is actually an artistic thing to do. I love the song and it can relate to the film, but it still holds another deeper meaning for me, and always will.
Right, it played for 30 seconds during a bunch of random scenes of rubble and Shia looking concerned. I get it. But it could have been so much more than that.
