MC Chris is my all time favorite rapper.

Other than that there's Eminem, DMX, Sean Paul, Ludacris, MC Frontalot, Lil' John, and MC Lars.

I used to listen to Rap when i was Younger, now i can't stand it. The only Hip Hop i can stand is Fort Minor. Because he Doesnt make himself look like a fool when he does it. and his Lyrics arent about "Bangin Dem Hoes" and "Gettin Money" (NOT Saying all Rap/ Hip Hop artists lyrics are, but the Mainstream radio crap is)

I'm not telling you what to do or anything but you could take time to find rap you like. A lot of the artists that are being listed in this thread are "real" rappers who rap about more than getting money and fucking bitches  If you like Fort Minor I'd really suggest Lupe Fiasco, Styles of Beyond, and Apathy. There are many more out there but those are a couple of my favorites.

And for the most part, I feel the same way you do about mainstream rap.

To further this statement, there is a difference between rap and hip-hop. Which is why I primarily am a hip-hop head.

"Rap" nowadays has no talent, no thought behind it and is simply just a waste of television and the airwaves.

Hip-hop is where it's at. Jurassic 5 are an example of one of the modern greats.

I don't feel like naming a list of artists right now lol but I mainly like unique stuff. Underground hip-hop is where it's at. It's intelligent and it's not overproduced. I like Aesop Rock in particular. Brilliant stuff through and through.

I consider Chamillionaire to be labeled under rap, but he is defitnately one of the best rappers out today. Sure, he does have SOME songs where he talks about having money, but I'm ready to pull out a list of songs by him that will change your mind about him (Same with Lil' Wayne).

Everyone should listen to his song, "Ultimate Victory". I thought it was the best song of 2007 in my opinion.

Huh, what are the differences between "rap" and "hip hop" music? Last time I checked, rap was the vocal style used in hip hop =\
