A year ago, Linkin Park's 'Hybrid Theory' accomplished an amazing feat, their debut album was the highest selling album of 2001. A year later, the album was pronounced the 5th highest selling album of 2002, showing off the amazing power and talent Linkin Park really has. In the United States over the past 27 months, the debut album has sold over 8 million copies, stayed on the Billboard Top 100 charts for 100 weeks, and has been selling a steady 100,000 copies a week even between singles and during the process of making Reanimation. Way to go LP!

With Linkin Park’s new album coming out in 2003, perhaps this will be the first time that Hybrid Theory will fall off the charts; unless there are new listeners and they get hooked on the new album and they want to buy Hybrid Theory. There are a lot of possibilities. I can still see Hybrid Theory as a best-selling album of 2003 though. Maybe not in the top ten, but definitely top twenty-five.

Eminem's 'Eminem Show' was first. Nelly's 'Nellyville' was 2nd. Go figure.

Anybody go look at the charts or MTV?
You don't see many rap songs making it on MTV anymore. Watch the show where you vote for the videos. Most of the songs that get voted on there are rock, hard rock, or alternative. I say no more. Go figure.
