I'm bored, so I might aswell open a stupid thread. If you could give each member of the band 2 albums for them to get inspired by, which would you give? My picks: Mike Saul Williams - The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust! Clint Mansell - The Fountain (ost) Chester A Perfect Circle - Mer de Noms Celan - Halo Brad Albinobeach - Albinobeach The God Machine - Scenes From the Second Storey Joe Battles - Mirrored Venetian Snares - Rossz Csillag Alatt Született Phoenix Muse - Absolution Tomahawk - Tomahawk Rob Gavin Harrison & O5Ric - Circles Snowman - The Horse, the Rat and the Swan

Chester: Angels and Airwaves- LOVE Red Jumpsuit Apparatus- Lonely Road Story of the Year- The Constant anything by Jonny Craig (Emarosa, solo project) Anberlin- any album of theirs- lead singer Stephen Christian is great Mike: Hybrid Theory Meteora anything by Chevelle (guitar-wise) Coheed and Cambria (guitars) Brad: Avenged Sevenfold- Avenged Sevenfold Saosin- SAOSIN Phoenix: fuck idk just play bass lol... maybe something from Mark Hoppus Joe Hahn- Old LP stuff Rob- Saosin- Translating the Name EP A Day to Remember- Homesick Albums/Artists that the whole band could learn some stuff froml: Jimmy Eat World- Futures/Chase this Light Both Red Jumpsuit Apparatus albums Say Anything Angels and Airwaves (mostly lyrically and structures of songs) Story of the Year Breaking Benjamin-Dear Agony Coheed and Cambria-Welcome Home (the song) Silverstein-A Shipwreck in the Sand and to whoever stated above that Chester should take influences from Shinedown, um if that happens I'll shoot myself lol... only thing worse than that would be taking influence from Nickelback... I'd love to see LP mix their older roots (HT and Meteora) with some punk stuff on this album. I hope they throw in a few ballads like Not Alone, and then have the remainder of the album be a mix of their heavy roots with some new punk influences, strong choruses from Chester and more rapping from mike. Some more interesting guitar parts would be awesome, that's why I suggested Brad check out A7X and Saosin, and Mike check out Chevelle and Coheed. EDIT: I'd also love for Chester to take in some Maynard influences, be it either Tool or A Perfect Circle or Maynard's part on the Deftones song Passenger. I'd love for Chester to do a song with vocals like those on Passenger or Passive (APC) or Vicarious (Tool)... his voice would be great for that kind of vocals
