I just saw them in Milwaukee a few weeks ago and I have to agree. Foo Fighters songs can build up just as good as anyone else...My Hero, All My Life, Everlong, and Breakout are just a few setlist staples that are pretty anthem-like. Dave knows how to write a big chorus I really don't see how someone could say Foo Fighters aren't that kind of band though, they're one of the most mainstream examples of a quiet verse/loud chorus band
I'd like to see it as a single too as it's one of my favorites.. But I'd like an awesome video as well, not just the band playing or something similar.
In my remains is has to be a single...is the 2nd best charted Living Things song behind Lost In The Echo
I feel like LP's singles would be bigger if they had a decent music video with a storyline like the old days. Every video from ATS, New Divide and Burn It Down are all BORING as hell. I want stuff with a story, like SOTD, LOATR, BTH, Numb.
For me, In My Remains is a "poor man's" (if you will) What I've Done. The song structure is very similar. Short intro into the heavy yet simplistic riff, two sung verses and choruses, with a subtle yet melodic outro by Mike. Not trying to say that What I've done is better or anything, I just find the songs very similar. Not a bad thing though, In My Remains is a solid song.
I wouldn't compare IMR to What I've Done. It's a song that employs two of Linkin Park's most successful structures. It utilizes the classics intro verse chorus verse chorus but cuts it short where it then segues into the newer The Catalyst/Blackout long soft and surprising outro.
If this song will get released as a single it'll be HUGE. It's very fast for a saddish-enough song, the verses have a very nice hook to Chester's singing and the chorus is pretty big. It's exactly the type of song you'd hear on the radio.
