All people who dislike Slash are fanboys? :p
I don't like Slash or his playing. Overrated, Someone said? Definitely.

I think brad is a pretty decent player. LP's music doesn't fit with 5 minute long solo parts or whatever metalheads seem to expect from every guitar player in the world, So brad doesn't play it. We don't really know how good he is because he plays whatever WORKS with the rest of the band, Not whatever he wants to do.

Brad isn't as good as everyone thinks he is. Listen to Krik Hammett, Zak k Wylde, Alexi Laiho and Slash ;) There you got a lot of good guitar players ;) . Still no solo yet....damn.... can't he play fast solos???

And IMO Slash is overrated. Kirk hammet kicks ass though.

daron malakian isn't underrated in no way...the guy plays 5 chords in one manner through several albums and people still call him inovative...i was on a guitar fest on friday in Rijeka...Hal's all star guitar festival...acoustic guitar virtuosos...Hal,Don Ross,Beppe Gambetta and Clive Carroll...that's playing...that's skill...

brad is good at what he does; he's good at playing the LP sh*t and he plays it like no one else does. therefore, he's a good guitarist for LP and, frankly, that's all he needs to be. it's really no good comparing him to supposed "guitar legends" ... because it's not like he's trying to be like them.

I still say the 2 best examples of Brad's best guitar playing are And One and Part of Me. And One (the studio version anyway) has a cool melodic picking part in the middle of the song that's pretty intricate, it's probably the only part of an LP song I have any real difficulty playing accurately.

Part of Me has a couple cool things, first of all the picking parts in the verses are done at a rather rapid pace, secondly, I bet I'm the only person that noticed this, but Brad actually plays a major 7th chord in the chorus of this song (Bmaj7 to be precise). I can't say I've heard any other nu-metal songs that use this type of chord.

    Very easily. Ares, Limewire etc.

Band suggests downloading it rather than paying 300.00 for it on eBay. This is probably the only time we EVER will condone downloading on this site apart from a news post.

Gotta disagree with both of these. Alexi is a god, and he's got both unique style and technical ability out the wazzoo.

Hanneman's probably not the most noteworthy of thrash guitarists, but he's at least better than Hetfield.
