Is masturbation a sin?

Since I am not a man who believes in sins, nor am I a man who believes in God, and is an atheist, I shall simply answer the question of whether masturbating is a right or wrong thing to do.

As many of you have mentioned and probably know, many people are for it, and many are against it. Personally, I'll say this:

I have masturbated before, but I do not do it often. And personally, I do not think it's wrong for a man, and nor is it wrong for a woman, to find a way to pleasure his or herself.

That is my opinion.

im pretty sure this passage is the reason that xtians dont look to favourably upon masturbation and birth control. although more liberal xtians may tell you it doesnt apply anymore under the new covenant. but seeing as i am a godless heathen, i dont really object to masturbation as there isnt any proof that it does any harm to anyone.

 

OK, here's my take on wanking, masturbation, whatever you want to call it:

Let's say you're like me, without a significant other. You know that watching porn's not right, you know that wanking's not right, and you know that thinking lustful thoughts isn't right either.
But if you're not really all that good with the opposite sex and have nothing to say but "....durrrr" (which sometimes happens to me, sad to say) when a pretty chick asks you what's up, what are your alternatives?
For me, it's the usual line-up:

1. Watch porn
2. Wank
3. Think about chicks and the things you'd love to do to them

Or a combination of the three.
Of course, watching porn and not doing anything but usually doesn't do it for me, neither does thinking lustful thoughts and thinking impurely.
So....that leaves wanking. Call me a pervert or whatever, I'm just your average 22 year old male with raging hormones, so obviously wanking satisfies that animal urge to grab a girl and bang her brains out.

Bottom line: Sure, it's sin and sinful, but it works for me. And I never said I was perfect.

Just my two cents.

I saw on a website that only full-on sex counts as actual sex in Christianity, and that the bible actually recommends anal, oral and masturbation even if it's pre-marital.
