Image Credit: @larissav on instagram As a new year begins, so does a new tour! First this year we have the band heading out on a three date tour in Mexico, before heading over to Asia for another three date mini tour. But, Mexico is first, so let's talk about the bands history in Mexico City. Linkin Parks history in Mexico City starts all the way back in 2002, 23 years ago! This show was the bands first ever Mexico show, and the second to last show of the Hybrid Theory era. They only played a charity show two days after, and then headed back home to work on Meteora. Funny enough, this 2002 date was played at the same arena that the band will now play, in 2002 they played as openers for Korn, and now they're headlining this 65,000 capaicty arena by themselves. Complete with heckler commentary In 2012, on the LIVING THINGS cycle, the band returned to Mexico City for their first show in the city for ten years, bringing with them some specialities just from that era. The show opened with TINFOIL going into Faint, IN MY REMAINS was played, so was LIES GREED MISERY and VICTIMIZED was mashed up with QWERTY. The show ended with the fan favourite mashup of Bleed It Out with the Sabotage bridge. Enjoy this audience edit of Tinfoil + Faint, complete with DSP audio. Bring back the DSP program please The last show that took place in Mexico City was now ten years ago, back in 2015, when the band played some North American shows before heading out on their 2015 China tour. This show and the show in Monterrey two days after were the two first shows that the band headlined since January when Chester unfortunately broke his leg and had to cancel the remainder of the tour, so the band modified the setlist they had been playing during May and other festival shows. Mikes solo portion was replaced by a shortened version of Remember The Name for the first time and Points of Authority, Crawling and Final Masquerade returned to the set. Here's the entire show for you to enjoy. Last time the band played a show was back on December 12, their first show in Saudi Arabia. For it band delivered a shortened set, cutting out the Lying From You / Points of Authority rotation spot, The Catalyst, CASTLE OF GLASS, the Joe/Mike + Colin sections, Casualty, Leave Out All the Rest, the My December / Friendly Fire rotation spot, and the A Place for My Head / LOST IN THE ECHO / Keys to the Kingdom rotation spot, but still delivered one hell of a performance. Which is even more impressive considering that Emily apparently was sick during the show. So what can we expect from a these shows? How much are we expecting the setlist to change? Personally, I would like to see this setlist materialise. Do we think that the band will add even more songs from From Zero? We have seen the band back in their rehearsal space, and even seen them supposedly rehearse Good Things Go. One More Light was the only album not represented live in 2024, will they add songs from that album to the setlist? Impossible to say. Maybe? I would like to see Nobody Can Save Me and Sorry For Now. Heavy makes sense to add, with Mike singing Chesters parts and Emily singing Kiiaras parts. Or they can do the opposite if they want. With the advancement of technology, making it easier to livestream than ever before, fans at home have been able to watch shows on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, getting to experience the show along with the fans attending the show. While we're not gonna ask our readers to livestream the show, if anyone reading this finds a stream or you're streaming it, let us know so we can watch along with you. Are you going to any shows this year, and if so, have you made it known in the meet-up thread? What do you think the band will do with the setlist? Initially I thought I wasn't going to make it to this show because of my schedule, but I was able to find a way to work around it and I'll be there! It will be my third LP show. Never thought I would see my favorite band again play live after what happened in 2017, but I'm glad they are back. As for the setlist, I really hope they play Overflow since it has grown to be my favorite from the new album. Good Things Go seems more likely though. We'll see though... it's only a matter of time.
Congrats man! Have a great time and let us know how it is. I feel we may at least see one or two new songs from From Zero debuted, at the very least. I'm very interested to see how the setlists turns out!
From the insideeeeeeee!!! Wiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!! Of course Overflow and good things go would be awesome. Viva México!
Looking forward to see an Australian date or 2 pop up just after the Indonesia concert! (please). I don't wat to have to wait until 2026 - if at all!
Time flew by , damn it. Really curious to see what the band has in store this time. Hoping for as many From Zero tracks as possible Have a great time, anyone who's going!!
Like I commented earlier on this thread I stated that I was going to this show... and damn, what an impressive setlist we got! It was a treat that we were the audience to 3 live debuts: full band version of Lost, Good Things Go, and the one I was looking forward to the most: Overflow. The songs flowed into each other well and LP looked happy on stage. It's insane how we got 7/11 songs off of From Zero in this show, and also the bridge of Cut the Bridge in Bleed It Out at the end. I had a great time tonight and I'm glad I saw my favorite band again.
Good Things Go sounded great but damn, Overflow sounded amazing live. Emily went hard (compared to the album version) at the end with those screams. It was nice seeing the band smiling and having such a good time.
Pretty great to have two new FZ songs in the set!! Biggest surprise for me is Lost in full, didn't see that one coming. Pretty cool
i just watched a video of bleed it out because i was curious about cut the bridge. i might be wrong cause i couldn't hear clearly in the video but i think Mike had some technical issues with his guitar cutting out so he had to sprint back and forth to get it to reconnect again.. at the end Emily started to playfully kick the guitar and Mike just threw it on the floor lol.
