Hayao Miyazaki, 72, is a Japanese animator and manga master who has made famous anime films such as My Neighbor Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle, The Secret World of Arriety, Princess Mononoke, Ponyo and Spirited Away. Koji Hoshino, who is the head of Miyazaki's company Studio Ghibli, states that Miyazaki is officially retiring from making feature films after the release of his last film, The Wind Rises. This hopefully does not rule out the fact that he could focus on shorter endeavors. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-09-01/hayao-miyazaki-to-retire-from-making-feature-films
Which adds more credibility to the idea that we'll still see a Hayao Miyazaki-helmed film in the future. Full-length. He doesn't take to retirement well. Especially while his son's productions are painfully average.
