One of my favorite and only favorite rapper. I've been listening to his album "808's and Heartbreak" alot lately. It's actually one of my favorite albums. I know everyone still don't like him because of that whole Taylor Swift incident but that was a year ago. But anyways, he's a amazing artist.
He's becoming on of my favorite musicians in the biz, I have all his albums, and I think Runaway is fucking sick
It's not that I don't like him due to Taylor Swift, I don't like him because 808s was a crappy album.
Excellent producer, but overrated as hell as a rapper. However, he does make good songs so I can't say I'm not a fan.
I love Kanye. His work ethics are really strong and at a time when mainstream music was so watered down he came through with substance and in the process broke a lot of conventional hip-hop sounds.. and he is still doing it now, though I'm not sure if it to the same extent as before. Dude is single handedly responsible for bringing old-school sampling back into the mainstream. Now whenever you hear pitched soul/rnb sample on beat, people go "that's Kanye". On the flip side though a lot of the times he straight up lifts parts of songs and pass them off as "sampling". That's something I hate about his production. I wasn't a big fan of 808, but in a way it was a good break from his usual sound. His first three albums however are extremely solid.
I think Aziz Ansari pretty much summed up how I felt about what Kanye did last year at the VMA's. People take the music business way too seriously at times, Kanye is one of them. But people were calling for dude's head over this shit, it was nuts. Like, well, most of the general population, I love all of his stuff except 808s & Heartbreak, bar two songs from that album. Especially his new stuff, the remix for Power is dope, I think, especially the freestyle part at the end. Not in love with the new album title, I think it's kind of dorky, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't REALLY looking forward to it. I might even buy it!

He's just ok. I can't for the life of me figure out how he somehow got the reputation as this epic rapper.

oh good God. Anyways, I just heard some of the G.O.O.D. Fridays tracks, and I have to say that those tracks are pretty fucking dope. Monster is my current favorite.
