http://kotaku.com/383303/korn-debuts-haze-the-song I think it's actually better than a lot of their recent stuff.
I kind of lost interest in KoRn after their greatest hits. Nothing they've released since then has really excited me, and this song is no exception. I feel it sounds like any other song made for a videogame (generic, not bringing anything new to the table etc).
They have pretty much sucked since Issues, with the exception of a few songs from Untouchables and SYOTOS. imo, anyway.
I thought Untouchables was one of their more solid records. Either way, they've definitely gone downhill from there.
Seems to be cool to hate on KoRn ever since Head left. Honestly, what they're doing these days is so much more interesting and varied than their old music. KoRn has been through numerous stages, and you have to be able to move with the band. For a band that effectively popularised and maybe even started nu-metal, people are a bit ridiculous for expecting them to keep releasing their self titled record over and over. Haze though, is mediocre, not bad, but certainly not great.
Maybe people do hate them just because it's cool to, but I just don't like their more recent music. Fair play to them for at least trying something different but I'd rather listen to something that wasn't original at all if I thought it was done well. I don't think they played to their strengths on the Untitled album. Come to think of it David leaving/taking a break probably has something to do with it.
