The main standouts of L.A. Noire for me is when your are interrogating people to solve cases. You really have to think if the person your interrogating is telling the truth or not. Here's a video that explains about it as well another video about the realism of the facial expressions (which is really impressive) As the title suggests, the game draws heavily from both plot and aesthetic elements of film noir - stylistic films from the 1940s and 1950s that shared similar visual styles and themes including crime, sex and moral ambiguity and were often shot in black and white with harsh, low-key lighting. So I'm expecting when I play this game I'll actually feel like I'm watching a movie. This is a game that makes you use your brain and make logical decisions. I heard about this game about a month ago and pre-ordered Noire as fast as I could; the wait is already over, the game is out in the U.S. and Europe today! Ecstatic to play this game soon! Still have question about the game? Here's a late full detailed video about L.A. Noire: What are your opinions so far about the game? Edit: Found this review that explains the full detail about L.A. Noire (Warning: Contains Mild Spoilers)
I think this is the game the gaming industry has been waiting for. It's going to break new ground and personally I can't wait.
THIS. Monday night can't come soon enough! Sucks that the XBOX 360 version will be 3 discs, or so I've heard.
We got the copies of L.A. Noire at the store I work at, yeah it certainly feels too heavy to just be one disc.
Yeah, I can't remember where I read it, I think it was G4. The game was supposed to originally be a PS3 exclusive, but it made it's way to the 360 in the late stages, so maybe that's why? Though, could be that this game is loaded with that much badass. I know each "case" in the game can last anywhere between 45 minutes and an hour and a half, and there's like 20-something cases in the game, not counting the DLC.
I can't remember where I heard it from (it was probably from an Admin in Rockstar's official website) but yeah there's 3 discs included for the 360.
I have to admit I'm rather intrigued by it, just the overall plot and the fact that my Animation degree friends are wanting this for their Animation assignment as well.
Picking this up tonight, along with The Naked City. Can't wait! I haven't been excited for a video game in quite some time.
Doesn't seem so, but I read this little morsel: "The disc changes come only twice through the entire game and both at natural points that won’t interupt the action."
While looking for more info for the game I came across this: http://www.la-noire.net/forums/thread-670.html Some FAQ about the game (may contain spoilers) There's some good info about the game, info that I didn't even know about. It even shows the map of L.A. Noire. Souce:http://support.rockstargames.com/entries/20100383-information-on-disc-swapping-in-l-a-noire
Dad took my cash while I was at work and bought this for me. It's waiting for me for when I get home. CAN'T WAIT!
At school right now but as soon as I get home my dad is gonna give me a lift to Gamestop and buy L.A. Noire and Undead Nightmare! Can't wait to play!
I had no interest in this game until I watched this video http://kotaku.com/5802203/14-minutes-of-la-noires-unexpected-thrills But too bad it isn't on PC.
