One Step Closer, Points of Authority, Runaway, Most of Meteora, No More Sorrow, Valentine's Day, In Pieces, Wretches & Kings, The Catalyst. Probably says something that most of these are brought down by the lyrics as much as anything. The only song of theirs I can think of where it's probably the other way round is Shadow of the Day.
Once upon a time, Chester was visiting a wangst factory, and there was a sudden explosion, the stainless steel capsules ruptured, and and undiluted wangst spilled onto Chester, and he was completely saturated, and he began glowing a noisome, sickly purple, and the only way to rid himself of the deadly toxin was to eject it into a single song, and so he picked up a microphone and sang "Valentine's Day."
Given Up No More Sorrow Shadow of the Day Hands Held High What I've Done Runaway and all of Collision Course Runner Ups going to The Messenger which I only listen to because I listen to all of ATS, and now I'm used to it's ... quirks. New Divide, which took two freaking years for me to get used to, but I bet will eventually return to the top list. And Somewhere I Belong for having terrible lyrics, but a decent song overall. 40 attempts at writing a chorus is a sign it wasn't working. They should have stuck with the 3rd draft and quit thinking about it at that point.
In The End No More Sorrow One Step Closer Given Up Faint Somewhere I Belong There are more songs I don't like, but I hate these ones with a passion.
Why is Easier To Run getting so much hate? It along with Breaking The Habit is similar in style to most of A Thousand Suns, but that's my opinion I guess, anyways: 1. Runaway (Too repetitive) 2. From The Inside (the screaming part in particular, it destroys what could have been a legendary song) 3. Valentine's Day (I still can't accept that they made this, instant skip) 4. Iridescent (Too predictable first listen, sounds like a filler from Coldplay's next album) 5. The Messenger (Putting this is as the ending to A Thousand Suns is the worst decision they made for it) 6. Wretches And Kings (only because it broke A Thousand Suns, nine songs of well crafted concept only for this to start without any sort of intro, straight after Blackout, they should have put a minute of silence after Blackout as Joe Hahn suggested) THIS
Don't you just wanna hit everyone in the head with a baseball bat that hates the songs that you love? Crazy, right?
Yes, and then, when their blood arcs through the sky and momentarily turns sunbeams red, I will look at their cracked skulls, them pleading for mercy, and I will offer them none. The second blow will render them a lifeless husk. The third blow will be purely for my own satisfaction, but even I will eventually grow weary of the dull, wet thuds of the baseball bat, and I will discard it as a child discards an unfavored toy. This is the penalty for not liking "Papercut."
I'm always surprised by the number of people that don't like Robot Boy, I think it's an awesome song. I really have never been able to adapt to Valentine's Day that much...
I don't HATE all these songs, but these are the ones I don't like very much. The ones in capital are the ones I hate: By Myself Forgotten Hit The Floor Easier To Run NOBODY'S LISTENING It's Goin Down (Got annoying) High Voltage (All versions, especially Reanimation one, sounds like a constant alarm clock) And One (I used to LOVE it, but recently it's just really boring to me) STANDING IN THE MIDDLE Waiting For The End (I don't hate/dislike it, just have never got into the song for some reason)
for me its everything on reanimation and everything apart from the "what the hell are you waiting for " bit on collision course (i hate Jay-z)..lol
Somewhere I belong, Numb, Given Up, No More Sorrow, Standing in the Middle, and Reanimation High Voltage. With Most of HT and Meteora, I usually just ignore the lyrics and enjoy the catchiness of the songs. If I didn't do that there would be a lot more songs on this list.
After giving Meteora a listen today for the first time in almost 2 years I have to say I'm adding Numb to the list as well. I liked it before but now it's just "meh".
