This is the problem every band faces when they change. No matter what new style they produce, they'll always be doing something that's been done before. Haters are gonna hate. LP should definitely try dubstep if they so desire.
Dubstep is/was one of the big recent fads in music, though, so if they didn't do a damn good job of it and if it seemed to come out of nowhere it'd be that little bit easier to be cynical about it.
