StoneTempleBrett from Below Empty reviewed THP http://www.alternativenation.net/?p=48741 Mark The Graves is "by far" his favourite track.
Well ,when GATS was released I was extremely excited for the album.GATS was something I wanted them to do from the past 7 years.I know it's wrong of me but when I heard until its gone on Zane Lowe I lost all hope for the band. It's mediocre lyrics ,relatively bad vocals and an average instrumental track made me feel the song had so much potential. Wastelands was pretty average too in my option. I was kinda skeptical for the album.Rebellion restored hope not only for the band but for rock music today.rebellion is a brilliant track and would be a dream come to true for anyone who likes system and LP.coming to FM the reviews said it would be something like a song off ATS.I was kinda looking forward to it and it Blew my mind.one of the best choruses I've heard in a looong time. To sum it up FM=rebellion> GATS>>>wastelands>>>>>>>>>>>UIG
Thoroughly enjoying this However.... Fuck Brad, I could have laid down a solo for this when I was 11. The song is fucking begging for it, just do it.
Pretty random, and thought I'd post here as well. Final Masquerade's got a pretty big, cinematic hook that I thought would sound great with strings. So I took the chorus melody and spend half an hour or so, and I have this random clip lol. https://soundcloud.com/anthony-starkson/final-masquerade-t-emo-random-rearrangement
Go listen to Crawling performed on any date between 2000 and 2004 and compare with a recent (post 2007) performance of the song.
I think people are confusing the word "visceral" as another word for "heavy" or "aggressive". Visceral is actually along the lines of coming from strong emotions, relating to deep inward feelings rather than to the intellect. Both Rebellion and FM sound pretty visceral based the lyrics and the emotion coming from mike and chester.
This review sure releases a lot of lyrics. I saw there was a lot for ALITS so I tried to skim extremely quick.
He made a thread about it here: http://www.lpassociation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40648 Discussion is always welcome in there Im not an admin, but make sure you don't double post
I really liked this track. Awesome awesome awesome song. Fantastic lyrics and great riffs - Loving the guitar layering. Reminds me of a mix between Powerless and Pushing Me Away. Also the pre-chorus gives me a "Lockjaw" feel. Only wish the guitar solo was faster.
GATS and Rebellion are, wastelands not so much, but the instrumental is pretty cool and maybe even #visceral i never said it does, it just means that the less heavy song is not that heavy. in this case that Rebellion is not that heavy. LP ballads are usually really soft, but many rock ballads have heavy instrumentals, and still are ballads. just because an LP song have proeminent guitars it doesn't necessarily mean its heavy or it cant be a ballad.
And I caved. Beautiful. One of the best ballads the band has ever written. And again, amazing lyrics. Looks like UIG was a fluke.
Logged in for the first time in a long time just to say that this is one of the best songs I've heard from the band in a fair while. Honestly, I like Rebellion and Final Masquerade more so than most of the tracks on Living Things (Castle of Glass and Powerless being the exceptions).
