A while back I released a remix album of all the Meteora era LPU demos with vocals added. I've now done the same to all of the Minutes to Midnight era tracks and here are the results! Track list: 1. Homecoming (All For Nothing and Powerless) 2. Bunker (Keys to the Kingdom) 3. Basquiat (Wretches and Kings) 4. Asbestos (Victimized) 5. Clarity (I'll Be Gone) 6. Debris (Right Now) 7. Bang Three (What I've Done and Lost in the Echo) 8. YO (Mark the Graves) 9. Universe (Wastelands) 10. Pale (Waiting For The End) 11. Homecoming [alternate vocal] (Powerless) 12. YO [alternate vocal] (Blackout) SendSpace mirror 4shared mirror
I like what you were going for. Some quick notes tho. 1. Powerless' chorus is a bit ahead of Homecoming, timing needs to be fixed slightly. 2. IMO, this demo is just too incomplete for anything to really fit. 3. Perfect 4. Nothing against this mix, I actually think its an interesting take with the rapping in the chorus as well, but I just have a preference for this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oy30vsQbInc 5. IBG vocals are just a tad too loud. Nicely matched up 6. verse 2 cuts off a bit weird at the end and doesn't necessarily fit too perfectly because of the vocals effects/filter 7. Mike's verse in the bridge is a great touch, but Chester's vocals in the bridge feel a bit strange. Out of place almost. 8. Timing is a bit off, but tbh, these 2 songs don't match well at all. 9. Perfect 10. Think rougher vocals would have fit this one, but I really like how the instrumentation and vocals gradually progress together. Nice fit from that aspect. 11. Similarly to the other version, the timing with the verses are a bit off, but this is the better of the two 12. Timing is very off on this one compared to the others. These vocals are much better than MTG tho. Overall, the album isn't half bad. Tweaking the timing issues will help a bunch. Standouts for me were Basquiat, Clarity, and Universe. Good Job.
Thanks for the in-depth breakdown. Honestly a lot of these demos were much harder to work with than the Meteora era ones. I'm hoping for some more stuff from each era on the next LPU CD so I can maybe take a second crack at them.
